Please join me in wishing my sister-in-law Janet a very happy birthday! This is a follow up to an incredibly powerful portrait that we made together six years ago. You can see that portrait on my other Instagram account and read the story of what made that portrait so meaningful to me. It is the second portrait that I ever shared to that page (immediately following a portrait of my wife of course) and I will remember that moment until I have no more memories.

Please take a moment and send birthday wishes to my incredible sister-in-law. I am so blessed to have such an incredible family and extended family who have taken me into their wonderful circle and shared so much with me.

I will share the story of both this portrait and the original in full on my Patreon page at www.patreon.com/scottphotoco (LINK IN BIO) in the next few days.

Wishing a very happy 105th heavenly birthday to one of the kindest, most humble and genuine Legend I have had the honor of photographing. The world is a lesser place without you. You are missed.

It was 2021 and I was on the trip of a lifetime. The Rolling Bones were in the UK and the trip was planned exceptionally with days at Goodwood, drives through the British countryside (on the wrong side of the road!) on tiny, shoulder-less country roads, meals at historic pubs and so much more. This photograph was on the day that we went to the historic Brooklands Motor Circuit. There was a bridge far above the banked track and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to line up the hot rods and make some shots. From this angle they almost look like toy cars but I can personally promise you that they are not. Every single one of these hot rods were shipped from the USA, driven at Goodwood and made the not inconsequential drive to Brooklands and back – driven, like hot rods should be.
I have so many stories and unseen photos from this trip that I’m working on for my Patreon page so please follow me there for updates and more photos and stories www.patreon.com/scottphotoco (LINK IN BIO). In the meantime, here’s a photograph one early morning of the Rolling Bones cars lined up in front of the incredible estate that we stayed in for the trip.

In 2021 I had the opportunity to travel with The Rolling Bones to England for a very special Goodwood where American hot rods would be celebrated. This experience was unbelievable as we took those very American hot rods driving the back roads of England, to the famed Brooklands track and opened the days festivities at Goodwood with loud and unruly cars driving around the famed, historic track.

In 2017 Ken Schmidt invited me to come out to New York for a couple weeks of shenanigans beginning at the famed Rolling Bones barn and then down to New Jersey for The Race of Gentlemen. I dutifully packed up my 4x5 Graflex, Pentax 67, Rolleiflex TLR, two 35mm Nikons and a s**t ton of film. With TROG coming up again in the next few months it got me going back through my film and reliving so many good memories.
This photo was shot on the beach right in front of the entrance to TROG in blowing sand using my early 1900’s Graflex 4x5 camera. I’m sure that I liked like an idiot struggling around on the beach aiming this weird black box at hot rods. Or, even more likely, no one even noticed me because the Rolling Bones build some of the most beautiful hot rods in the world and the spectacle of TROG in the background.
This October 1-4 you can experience TROG for yourself. More at theraceofgentlemen.com.

A magical moment with the Rolling Bones Circus. It’s blurry and a bit magical to me as it’s exactly how I remember this moment. It was a fantastical sunset on the dry lake bed with everything included that makes this moment really special to me.
