Tips for your first dance: 💃🕺🏼

If getting good portraits during the first dance is essential to you, have the DJ play your whole song! It’s popular these days for the DJ to cut your first dance and parent dances short because some people feel a little nervous to have all that attention on them for 3 straight minutes but from a photographers stand-point, this gives us enough time to move around the dance floor to find the most epic backdrop or perspective.

Additionally during your first dance it’s natural that you may be talking or singing along to the song and us photographers may need that extra time to catch that briefest moments when you’re smiling, laughing and not staring off into the distance or half-blinking, mouth open while speaking etc. 😅
