I’m often asked if the newborn photos I’ve taken when the babies are “fresh” outta the oven are done at a photo studio and the short answer is no. 😅
Within the first 48-72 hours, newborns stay in the postpartum rooms with mom and undergo checks-ups by the nurses and doctors, and also bond with their parents during that time.
When I come in, it can be any time from when a newborn is only a few hours old to 3 days old. The postpartum room is sometimes dark and crowded, filled with bags, luggages, blankets, medical equipment, and it seems highly unlikely that any good photos can come out of a space like this.
As an interior designer, I can see beyond the chaos and create moments of beauty in these spaces. The last few posts were photos taken from hospital rooms and all I see is love, perfection, and joy. I hope you can also Feel What I See™.

I first met Shai with her wife and son at a pop-up market in Culver City. With warm hearts and big smiles, we quickly became friends and have done a few markets and shared cups of chai together. Anyone who is a local artist understands the rollercoaster journey we go on, and it’s the community of caring creative friends that provide the joy we need to get through it all.
It was an honor to do family portraits for Shai’s beautiful family and event photos for her small business while supporting each other on our small business endeavors. On Saturday, Sept 27th, .shop and will be sharing a booth together at the Art Walk. Come find us on Montana Ave between 9th and 10th Street in Santa Monica from 11am-6pm.

Happy 4th of July 🎆
 
It’s been a busy year that’s flown by so quickly! I almost cannot believe that we are more than half way through 2025.
Although it’s been a while since I’ve written, I’ve been able to photograph special moments with some of you and have split my time between photography
and my other small business, MEIZAN — my small batch, handmade, concrete home decor, .shop.
With summer upon us, and the fires finally behind us, this season gives us longer days and more hours to schedule sessions, especially outdoors.
I am offering a SUMMER SPECIAL in July and August for
newborn photography, family portraits, branding, lifestyle, headshots, special events, milestone photography and more.

When I moved to LA, Trois Mec was one of the restaurants I celebrated a special occasion at and I can tell you it was a memorable dinner, but what I remembered most was the butter as I would not let the waiter take it away. The way the French love their butter, well, I might as well be part French. 😂Fast forward a few years later and I was able to photograph a few VIP events at Chef Ludo’s Michelin-starred restaurant. What an opportunity for this Foodie!
Unfortunately, TroisMec was forced to shut down during the pandemic and they didn’t get a proper celebration…until now. On May 9, 10, 13-17, Trois Mec will re-open its doors only for 7 nights offering a multi-course menu and wine pairings from Master Sommelier, . Make your reservation on and also celebrate the Aries Chef Ludo, who’s birthday was just a few days ago. 🎉 Joyeux anniv, !
