To have texture or not to have, that is the question.

TBH this question hasn't really been in the air since the 2010s, because nowadays retouching is all about a natural, clean result that keeps all the features as nature made them. Just cleaning out those imperfections that would only be there for a few days anyway (yes, just that annoying blemish or shadow fallout) and that's it.

And I love it. I love this trend and it makes me happy that we don't need to cover ourselves up for anyone.

TBH I don't even remember which magazine this was published in since I'm so slow with social medias and posting (if you know, tell me in the comments, seriously), but I remember exactly how much work went into keeping the skin consistent across seven completely different looks.

That's the thing about editorial series - each outfit changes the whole feeling of the image, the light reads differently, the mood shifts. And somehow the retouching has to hold all of it together so it still feels like one story.

Honestly I'd take this kind of project every day.

So I really didn't want to overdo it here because the model is already stunning and sometimes the best thing you can do as a retoucher is just... not do too much. A few blemishes, softened the pores a little so the serum drops get to be the main character. And that's honestly it.

This is my first ever voiceover video and I was genuinely stressed about it - I write in English all the time but speaking is a whole different thing, so please be gentle with me on this one.

The photo is so nice that I kind of had no choice but to keep it simple. Just cleaned up a few blemishes, softened the pores a little, nothing crazy. The serum drops needed to be the star and everything else had to get out of the way.
