A Scarlet Hope Story | Director's Cut

I don't take it lightly that testimonials are stories of real individuals. They are personal and it takes courage to share certain details so openly. That's why I'm so grateful Ashley trusted us with her story of how God and the ministry of Scarlet Hope transformed her life.

This was originally produced for one of the ministry's recent events which centered around the theme of "Beautifully Broken." The additional visuals are of Jillian Timberlake of Beautifully Broken doing kintsugi art. Kintsugi is a Japanese art form that repairs broken pottery using lacquer and gold. Its an art form that takes something that has been broken and crafts it into something even more beautiful than before.

This is a director's cut that includes some minor additional edits.

The Great Commission Council is doing massively encouraging work for Christian missions. Their congress spent three years forming statements on the many aspects of what healthy gospel missions should look like. I'm so grateful that I could spend the last two years filming pieces like this one for them. We've produced nearly one hundred videos on the statements and missionary testimonials!

Last year I had the privilege of filming missionary stories and their experience in the field. I'm so excited to be filming more of these stories and content next month for Messenger Ministries and the Great Commission Council!

A few months back I filmed a short promo series for a good friend and brother, Mack Stiles. We sat down to discuss his new book The Truth About Lies, which released earlier this summer in the US and released this month in the UK.

Excited to share this full promo for Scarlet Hope Louisville, highlighting their text outreach ministry. This is only a small picture of the many lives being impacted and saved.

This has been such an amazing project to work on and I'm so grateful for the amazing work of Avery Davis, who worked on the narration of this video.

Here's a few more frames from the recent project shot for Scarlet Hope. To move our character from one location to the next I focused on tracking shots using the dji Ronin RS2 Pro. Color graded using Gamut's base luts for Rec709 conversion, and foris luts for the creative look.

Recently I produced another promo for Scarlet Hope Louisville We've often focused on testimonials for their events. This time we did something different and filmed a hybrid between an explainer video and a dramatization (or reenactment) to share how they are utilizing text outreach in their ministry.

I thought I'd share some stills from the project, along with some of the pre-production breakdowns that went into planning. The lighting setup throughout this project was super simple. Most of the time it was a single light with bounce. In this scene I used a dolly shot to move in on the scene and the remaining shots were on sticks.
