Mr. Mark Michaud of Southeast Louisiana Underwater Search and Recovery was recently recognized with a JPSO Civilian Award for assistance he provided to the JPSO in January of this year. Mr. Michaud volunteered his services to help our rescue units respond to a vehicle that had gone off the Causeway Bridge into Lake Ponchartrain. Mr. Michaud's training and effort ensured the recovery operation went smoothly and efficiently. Stepping up to help a neighbor in need is the ultimate example of selflessness, and something to which we should all aspire.
