Perfect photos don’t exist… it’s the moments that make them perfect. 🤍

Kids get bored. They get distracted. Sometimes they need a little time to warm up — and that’s completely normal.

When it comes to family photos, I like to live by one little phrase:

Work with the kids, not against them.

What do I mean by that?

Forcing little ones to sit still, smile and do the exact opposite of what they want to do usually isn’t going to give us those “perfect family photos” we’re hoping for.

But working with them? That’s where the magic happens. ✨

Chase them. Play tag. Let them run around you. Let them jump, throw some sand, take a little break or bring their favorite stuffy along.

Because we’re not just trying to capture everyone looking at the camera and smiling.

We’re capturing you — the real, raw and authentic moments of your family in this exact season of life. And that’s the whole point. 🥹

It’s not about letting the kids run the show. It’s about letting them feel like they’re a part of it — like they’re contributing to the memories we’re creating together.

So for your next family session, don’t stress about perfection. Let them play. Let them be little.

favorite season - crisp air, crunchy leaves & a whole lot of cinnamon. Browns and burnt oranges, cozy patterns making their comeback, and little ones laughing as they kick leaves into the air. There’s just something about fall in New England. 🍁

This September + October, I’m offering a smaller, sweeter version of my usual sessions, perfect for capturing this season without needing a full session.

today’s weather has me thinking about this sweet session from a couple weeks ago because the sunset turned gloomy 🥹🤍

A little story time because these photos mean so much more to me than just a pretty gallery.

Last June, Anais and I were at this very same location while she was 7 months pregnant. We photographed such a sweet season of waiting and becoming.

Fast forward a little over a year later… same place, but this time they came back as a family of FOUR. 🥹

And funny enough, this wasn’t even where we originally planned to take these photos.

We had another location in mind — somewhere they had taken family photos before — but Mother Nature had other plans 🦟😒😂 Absolutely NO amount of bug spray could save us from the torment that followed.

We packed everything up and tried to make a second location work that same evening, but it was completely packed, there was no parking, and the sunset was definitely not going to wait for us. Eventually, we had to call it and reschedule. 😭

At the time, it was frustrating. We had planned everything out and tried so hard to make it happen.

But looking back at these now, I’m reminded of Proverbs 16:9:

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”

We make plans. We picture how things are *supposed* to go. And when they don’t, our first reaction is usually frustration because, if we’re being real, we like being in control.

But sometimes what feels like an inconvenience is actually a redirection.

Because somehow, after all of that, we ended up right back here.

The same little beach where we photographed Anais carrying her baby… now photographing her holding him in her arms. 🥹

Full circle.

And I think that makes these photos even more precious.

Not everything happens when, where, or how we planned it — but that doesn’t mean it isn’t going to happen. Sometimes God is simply writing the story a little differently than we imagined. 🤍

Anais & Jaime, thank you both for your kindness, patience, and grace while we navigated all of this together. I love you guys, and I’m so grateful I got to document another chapter of your family’s story. 🥹🤍

My priority is creating a space where you and your family feel safe, comfortable, and respected. Your children are yours alone, and it is completely your choice whether or not you want to share their precious faces with the world.

When sharing your session, I will never post full-face images without your permission. Instead, I can use thoughtful, detailed shots—tiny hands, little toes, sweet details, and all the moments that help tell your family’s story without revealing their faces.

This is my way of reminding you: your photos are safe with me. Your privacy matters, and I will always respect your wishes.

A disgusting this just happened (ontop of many others) but it’s wrong and sinful and as a Mother & Christian I refuse to contribute.

There’s been a law passed where A.I generated images of children (inappropriate images) can be used for inappropriate activities.

I’m SICK.

I was already beginning to feel hesitant about posting kids because of how ugly the world is but I refuse to be even give a little bit of a reason for ANYONE to use any of my photographs inappropriately.

As your photographer - it is my ultimate duty to protect the very precious moments you trust me with. And those little faces belong to YOU and not the internet.

As a Christian - this is sinful, wrong and demonic.

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

I could care less about content, likes & views when it comes to protecting my clients, their sense of privacy & my convictions and faith!! This is dark, this is harmful and everyone should be extremely alarmed.

Anyone who is for this new law “be AI isn’t real”; you will answer to God when your time comes.

I love God because no matter how many times I may fail or fall short, He never does.🤍

His love doesn’t change with my circumstances. His grace doesn’t run out when I get it wrong. He remains faithful, steady, and good through it all.

What a gift it is to be loved by a God who never changes. ✝︎
