After 115 days in the NICU, countless prayers, and more strength than any baby should ever have to show, Molly is finally home.

As photographers, we’re often invited into the happiest seasons of life. Every so often, we’re invited into something even deeper—a story of resilience, hope, and a family finally exhaling after months of uncertainty.

What struck me most during this session wasn’t the nursery or the tiny details. It was the way Mom, Dad, and big brother held each other close. The way they looked at Molly. The overwhelming gratitude woven into the quiet moments.

Because after everything they’ve been through, these aren’t just newborn photos.

They’re photographs of a family finally being together at home.

Finn doesn’t have much time left, and these photos feel like such a gift now.

This session happened the same night I went home and realized Lucia needed emergency care.

Somewhere between photographing their love and rushing home to mine, I was reminded of something I think we all forget sometimes…

Our pets are never “just dogs.”

They’re routines, comfort, best friends, chapters of our lives.

Throw the toy one more time. Take the picture. Stay a little longer.
