There’s something so special about the slow moments of a wedding morning. 🤍

Writing the vows you definitely meant to finish weeks ago while still in your PJs. 😂
Mom helping you into your dress.
Carefully putting on the jewelry you chose months ago.
A spritz of the perfume that will forever remind you of this day.
Mom placing your veil and making those last little adjustments only a mom would notice.

And then, for just a moment, everything gets quiet.

You take a second to look at yourself, breathe it all in, and realize… I’m getting married today.

Before the timeline starts moving, before the hugs and happy tears, before you walk down the aisle—there are these soft, unhurried moments.

Some sentimental. Some a little chaotic. Some involving very last-minute vows. 😂

And they all deserve to be remembered. 🤍

Sean and Jocelyn created a wedding day that felt completely and wonderfully like them.

And getting to photograph the wedding of someone I’ve loved working alongside in the wedding industry made this one just a little extra special. 🤍

THE PHOTO + THE MOMENT

Wedding photography and wedding content creation may happen side by side, but they serve two very different purposes—and together, they tell your story in a way neither one can quite do alone.

THE PHOTO

Photography gives you the images that last.

The beautifully composed portrait.
The tear rolling down your dad’s cheek.
The way your dress looked walking down the aisle.
The flowers, the invitations, the people you love, and all those tiny details you spent months choosing.

These are the images that will be printed, framed, placed in albums, passed down, and looked at for decades.

Photography turns a moment into an heirloom.

THE MOMENT

Content creation lets you experience it all over again.

The movement of your dress.
Your bridesmaids screaming when they see you.
The sound of everyone cheering after your first kiss.
Your husband’s reaction when you walk into the room.
The chaos on the dance floor.
The little behind-the-scenes moments happening when you didn’t even realize someone was recording.

It’s less about creating the perfect frame and more about capturing what the moment actually felt like.

And because your content is delivered almost immediately, you get to wake up the next morning and relive your wedding while you’re still riding the high of it all.

BUT TOGETHER? THAT’S WHERE THE MAGIC IS.

One freezes the moment.

The other lets it move.

One gives you the photograph you’ll frame on your wall.

The other lets you hear the laughter that happened five seconds before it was taken.

One creates the heirlooms.

The other captures the energy.

And when you have both, you don’t have to choose between remembering what your wedding looked like and remembering what it felt like.

You get both.

The photo and the moment. 🤍

You absolutely do not need over-the-top wedding invitations to have an incredible wedding day. But I will say this—when you’re intentionally creating a certain atmosphere for your wedding weekend, your invitations are the first stop on the journey.

They’re your guests’ first little glimpse into what’s coming. The first hint of the colors, the style, the formality, and most importantly…the vibes.

For Skylar + Jake, the dress code—and really the theme of the entire weekend—was black tie with a hint of Western. And their invitation suite absolutely nailed it.

From the heavy, beautifully weighted paper to the sleek lines and gold gilding, everything felt elevated and sophisticated. Then tucked throughout were those subtle nods to Western heritage that made the suite feel completely them.

Before their guests ever stepped foot into the wedding, they already knew what kind of weekend they were walking into.

Vogue. Western. Elevated. And one heck of a vibe. 🤠✨

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts lately that basically say:

“These are the photos that really matter, because in 50 years, these are the only ones you’ll care about.”

And every time I see one, it bothers me a little.

Because yes—the people and the moments matter immensely.

But I don’t think that means everything else doesn’t.

Keep reading, because I think the details matter too.

Yes, the moments you’ll remember in 50 years will be the people.

The hugs.
The happy tears.
The laughter.
The way it felt to have everyone you love in one place.

And we’re going to make sure we capture every bit of that.

But…

There’s another part of your wedding story worth remembering too.

There are also things that matter right now.

Things you dreamed about, planned, stressed over, spent money on, and probably changed your mind about 47 times.

And those deserve to be remembered too.

Here’s what I mean…

The invitations you designed, obsessed over, addressed by hand—or maybe even DIY’d yourself. Like this bride who did this ENTIRE wedding suite herself

You spent months choosing the paper, colors, fonts, ribbons and tiny little details.

So yes…

I’m taking the photo.

And that’s only the beginning.

The decorations you planned…

The things your mom helped assemble at the kitchen table.

The projects your dad got volunteered for.

The little details your entire family somehow got roped into making. Like the seating chart the bridesmaids got pulled into helping make…

I’m taking photos of those too.

Because the story is in the details.

The fun things you planned specifically for your guests.

The late-night snacks.
The custom cocktail napkins.
The photo booth.
The favors.
The ch*****ne tower.

The bounce house you got for your daughter and her friends to enjoy…that maybe y’all took a turn on too…

The ridiculous little detail that made you laugh every time you talked about it.

Yep. Photographing it.

And we can’t forget what you’re wearing.

And the outfits.

The welcome party dress you searched months for.

The rehearsal dinner shoes you had to have.

The getting-ready set.

The reception dress you changed your mind about three times.

You stressed over them. You loved

I have been dying to share Jocelyn’s bridals for over a month now, and now that she’s officially a MARRIED WOMAN, I finally can! 🤍

We spent the most beautiful afternoon at Hillside Estates capturing these, and truly, Jocelyn made my job way too easy. Her joyful, genuine, absolutely wonderful spirit shines through in every single photograph—and if you know her, you know that’s just who she is.

There’s something extra special about photographing someone you’ve had the privilege of working alongside and then getting to document such a meaningful season in her own life. It was such a joy and an honor to capture these for her, and somehow I’m supposed to choose favorites?! Impossible. 😂

Jocelyn, you were an absolutely STUNNING bride, inside and out, and I’m so excited I don’t have to keep these locked away anymore! 🤍✨
