This session was so much fun! The girls had a blast running through the fields and each getting their own portrait, of course just Mom & Dad had to sneak some in too!

Getting ready to deliver this gallery.

If you've been following my work, you might remember in 2023 saying I was done shooting weddings after 2024.

However, past wedding clients of mine introduced me to J&J after their engagement. We met last summer to shoot their engagement photos at one of my favorite beaches on Cape.

We had a blast.

I often set expectations that "we'll shoot for 45-60 minutes." Some times it turns into 2 hours because we're talking, shooting, laughing, and making amazing images in the process.

THESE are the clients that make me truly love what I do.

Their wedding was no different

I don't just show up and take photos. I help make sure people are where they need to be when they need to be there. I assure the bride & groom we are on track, everything is going perfectly and keeping their nerves down.

I am their personal hype man, drink-getter, dress-fluffer, tie-straightener, hair-out-of-place fixer. And one less stressor on their day.

There are some weddings that are just a job.

Then there are wedding days like 6/26/2026 where I drive home filled with adrenaline and gratitude.

And maybe a sore lower back.

I fell out of love with photography.

Hawaii helped me find my spark again.

You know that saying “find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life?”

False.

I was going through the motions for a long time, in both my personal and professional work. Taking the same photos. Editing the same way. Rinse. Repeat. Boring.

Sure, TikTok had me thinking I NEEDED a Fuji to either light a fire under my ass or become “better” somehow with that camera as opposed to the handful I already own. What I needed was to step back, remember how I used to approach photos when I first started or when I was limited to a 36 exposure roll of film.

It’s been more fun lately; better compositions. Finding pockets of light. Not the spray-and-pray and slap on my ol’ presets vibe that somehow clouded my artistry.

But I’m mostly writing this to hold myself accountable or remember I can change at any time. Because no one reads captions anyway.

Captain Mike.

I've been itching to take some new portraits and the Captain of a lobster boat was (and is always) at the top of my list.

Thanks Mike for the awesome tour around Frenchman Bay learning about Bar Harbor, Acadia and of course lobster fishing.

I know what I want to do when I grow up.
