I just kicked off my fall season with a family I’ve had the absolute privilege of photographing for **FIVE YEARS.** 🥹🤎
And listen… I know five years may not sound like a long time to some of the photographers who have been doing this forever, but y’all have to remember how this little business of mine came to be.
I started it from the ground up and I have sustained it almost entirely through **word of mouth.**
I’ve kept it going while working full-time as a Nurse Practitioner. While having a baby. While raising that baby. Through a difficult divorce and rebuilding a life on the other side of it.
And one of the things I’m most proud of? I’ve never had to pay for advertising to convince people to trust me with their memories.
And PLEASE don’t read that as shade toward photographers who advertise—running a full-time photography business is a BUSINESS, and marketing is part of that. I’ve had the luxury of photography not being my primary source of income, so I’ve never needed it to financially support me or my family. I’ve been able to let it grow at its own pace.
And somehow, year after year, YOU ALL kept it growing.
Clients like Sarvy, who come back year after year. Who are an absolute dream to work with. Who tell their friends about me, send families my way, and continue choosing me as their babies grow up right in front of my camera.
There is genuinely no way I would still be here doing something I love so much without people like you.
So as proud as I am of myself for keeping this little dream alive through every season of my own life, I’m even more grateful for every single person who has trusted me to document a season of theirs.
Every booking. Every referral. Every tag. Every “my friend told me about you.” Every family who comes back year after year.
**Thank you.** Truly. I couldn't do this without you. 🤎
And nowwww… can we please talk about where these handsome boys started FIVE YEARS AGO versus where they are now?! 😭
WHO GAVE THEM PERMISSION TO GROW UP?!
Because apparently while I’ve been over here minding my business, somebody let these babies turn into whole little men. 😭
Time really is the biggest thief of all.
Here’s to another fall season—and hopefully another five years of getting to freeze just a tiny piece of it. 📸🤎
