"This was actually my first shot using a light meter so I was just hoping that I exposed for the shadows correctly and that the photo would turn out well!! I stopped in my tracks while walking towards this lookout once I saw how nice the path was winding with the shadows and light and tried to capture this beautiful shot. It was also extremely windy so I fought against the wind and my cold hands to stay steady for this." -

"There are so many reasons why I love shooting with film- it's hard to concisely put it all into words. I think we all see the world with our naked eyes somewhat similarly and, beyond that, associate moments or scenes with our own personal feelings, emotions, etc. With film, there are so many different shooting techniques, cameras with unique functions, and film stocks that each carry their own personal traits and characteristics. And then you also have lens filters and the occasional happy accidents with light leaks and whatnot. Basically, what I'm trying to illustrate is that film helps us to express our perceptions of the world in the ways we individually interpret it. And it's not always perfect- just like real life. Through analog photography, I feel at home and more capable of conveying specific sentiments, auras, or ideas. That's why I love film. Plus, you can't beat that nostalgic look we all treasure. " -

"A couple of years back two of my photographer buddies came to visit me in Oregon. We were all just getting into film so when the rainy weather finally broke, we threw together a last-minute backpacking trip on Mt. Hood. We hoofed it into camp just in time to snap a couple of shots of this crazy alpenglow before it faded. The rest of the trip was kinda a comedy of errors which included eating bananas and peanut butter in hotdog buns after our stove died and we couldn’t find any dry wood for a fire, but regardless, it remains one of my favorite photography memories." -

"I went to go get coffee at one of my favorite shops here in San Diego (Genteel Coffee) & the sun started coming back out. It’s been pretty gloomy out here lately; so it’s super refreshing to get some good sunlight! I decided to get lost in some neighborhoods & chase some good light; then I came across this car with the cover slightly lifted. The wheels are what definitely caught my eye & the clouds tied everything together - just one of those moments that I’m happy was caught on film!" -

"It was early November and the fair was in town for a couple of weeks. It had been many years since I had been so when my friends asked if I wanted to go, of course, I said yes. We had been there for maybe 30 minutes and the sun started to set creating this beautiful orange sky. As I was walking past the Ferris wheel, I noticed the 2 empty seats and how the colors complimented the sky. So at that moment, I snapped the photo and this was the result!" -

"I took this picture on a lovely but overcast day whilst spending the afternoon with a friend, I remember being slightly disappointed by the weather and lighting at the time, expecting many of the pictures I took that day to be dull and underexposed. This is probably my favourite shot from the day, the grainy expired film really compliments the warmth of the light, overall giving a sense of comfort to the final composition." -

"I came across this scene picturing something out of the series Stranger Things, as cheesy as it sounds! I think it’s the neon lights, it just looks a bit retro, I can picture the lights flickering and maybe some of the characters running out of the door followed by a Demogorgon haha. Overall the scene just felt super cinematic, and paired with the Moment Cinebloom filter to bloom the lights I think it turned out super dope ✌🏻" -

“I was visiting California for the first time in about 4 years and went to Griffith for the first time ever. It was the nicest day we had had. the week prior having rained almost every day. As a result it was absolutely packed with people. I decided to take a walk to the back of the building, which was less crowded, and looked out at the sprawling and smogless LA valley. When I stopped gawking at the landscape I turned to my right and saw this shot. Hopeful, but never overly optimistic of my own abilities, I crouched down, lined up the shot, and hoped for the best. The rest you see.”

"The picture was taken during the summer holidays with my friends and boyfriend in Antalya, Turkey. It was our last day, and I finally took my camera to the beach. The sun was setting behind the mountains, and everything around us was golden. I didn’t have many expectations for the picture because it was quite dark already and I don't really have that much experience. I just wanted to capture the last swim with my boyfriend just for the memory. Small waves were hitting me and I wanted to go deeper into the water. The camera nearly got wet during the process, but it was totally worth it and I was really happy with the result." -

"This was taken in the early morning on my daily commute to work, what struck me standing there was how the usual busy skatepark was beautifully quiet. The trainers hanging from the streetlights and the park adorned with graffiti gives a wonderfully retro and timeless feel to this shot. With St Peter’s church perfectly centered in the distant background of the composition and an unexpected red light leak going across the frame as focal points, I can say I’m pretty proud of this image. :)" -
