At the age of 15, Baylee moved from Florida to Washington. Starting a whole new life in a new state and a new school, she joined the high school wrestling team, and with hard work and determination Baylee qualified for state. But what should have been one of the highlights of her high school years, then turned out to be a life altering discovery. Soon after qualifying for state, Baylee began to feel extreme fatigue, dizzy spells close to blacking out and loss of breath during basic daily tasks. After several tests and appointments, Baylee was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Words that no individual or parent should have to hear. Barely getting to process what was ahead of her, she was scheduled right into surgery to receive a port to start immediate chemotherapy. Because of the severity of her illness, she had to move into the Ronald McDonald house for a month and a half before she could go back home again, to which she then still had to go to Seattle Children’s daily for treatment and appointments, leaving her to spend most of her junior year of school online. Every day was just another day trying to get through treatment and procedures. Once her senior year rolled around, she was allowed to start going back to school again, but continued treatment pulled her in and out throughout the year. But God’s glory prevailed. By the grace of God and incredible family, doctors and support on her side, Baylee is currently cancer free! She is still going in routinely for maintenance, but she was able to have her port removed. She is now able to work and will be attending UW this September!

It was and absolute honor and privilege to be able to take this extraordinary young lady’s senior photos. The grace and light that she exudes is unmatched.

I am so thrilled for what lies ahead of you, Baylee!
