I like trying all kinds of new beers and releases, but sometimes you just want to pound a 12 oz. classic like Homestyle from Bearded Iris Brewing!

The OG from the Nashville-based Bearded Iris is one of my favorite beers from the start of my craft beer journey all those years ago. I was just starting to learn about a lot of popular breweries, that are common to me now, when a friend asked me to bring him some Bearded Iris. After hunting some cans down for him, it quickly became one of my favorite Tennessee breweries as well!

I needed to buy a sampler 6-pack a little while back for a paid project I was working on, so I tossed this 12 oz. can of greatness into the bundle. After kicking back on the porch to enjoy the 🍺, I wished I had just grabbed a full 6-pack of Homestyle instead!! 😋

Yesterday was the annual Hops In The Hills craft beer festival in Maryville, TN and I was there to enjoy all the local beers I could just minutes from my house!!

For $65 I received 4 hours of taste testing, some BBQ food and a t-shirt. Solid price and package!! The shirt was on the small side with the smallest neck hole I have seen, but I had a good time and won a Hops In The Hills hat, so that’s awesome!!

I loved catching up with some of my faves in the beer industry and trying to catch some video, while staying in the moment and drinking some 🍺!

I hope everyone had a great time, was safe post-event, and woke up feeling great!!! I behaved myself, and my oldest was my DD so it worked out wonderfully!! 🍻 to another year in the books and to many more!

Last Saturday was wrestling night at the Knoxville Smokies game! We arrived really early but I am glad we did! The little and I both received a signed photo from Hall of Famer, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat! 🐉

The 2nd best part of Covenant Health Park that night was Craft Beer Corner. I will give it to the ballpark, one of the best craft beer selections I have seen at a stadium!

During the game, while sporting my luchador mask that the first 1,000 fans received, I enjoyed a Steel Arm Lager from Ebony & Ivory Brewing and a Classic City Lager from Creature Comforts Brewing Co.! 😋 🍻

On Saturday our neighbor gave us tickets to Wrestling Night at Knoxville Smokies. The little and I decided to head to the ballpark early to check out the newly opened Iron Forge Brewing Co. taproom that’s attached to the stadium near the 3rd base entrance!

The taproom was really nice, and the Iron Forge beer/food was on point as always! Even better, when the gates opened we walked out the door and right there was an entry gate! So easy!!

If you head to the ballpark, definitely take some time to stop by and see the new location for yourself! I love that we can now get Iron Forge beer without the 45 minute drive!

One of my favorite parts of going back to Michigan is I always grab some 4-packs from Old Nation Brewing Co. to bring back to Tennessee!!

The list visit I grabbed Fence Hop, a DNEIPA. I tried Fence Hop when I was at the taproom and enjoyed it enough to buy more!! Soooo juicy, slightly bitter with some fruity notes. Oh…and 9.0%!!!! 😳

If you currently live somewhere else from where you grew up, is there a certain brewery you visit during every return trip back to the home state?

This 🍺 collab between 2 local favorites🤘! The Kuro Mai Black Rice Lager from Peaceful Side Brewery and Crafty Brewery has shown up numerous times on my tab!!

This beer is dark and smoooooooth, with a nice malty tone. It is a lighter beer than you expect from looking at it, but it stays true to the lager style. I could even see this being a crushable day drinking beer!

Obviously I am high on the Kuro Mai, but that should be expected. Peaceful Side and Crafty are always dropping killer brews!!

Side note! How about this cool glass from Padre Island Brewing Company My friend Maggie Takach sent this to me and I am obsessed. 🤩

Last Sunday we made a stop at the newest brewery in Maryville, TN, Blood Stripe Brewing.

I was excited to try a few more of their beers this time, as the last visit was early on and Blood Stripe was still working through some things.

I started off with a delicious Mexican Lager, and finished with half pours of a seltzer and IPA. Of course pretzels at a brewery are always a must!!

It was great to get back and see some of the changes since my last visit! The gentleman working was great, and thank you to the guys that shared the Great Lakes BA can with me just out of the blue!! 🍻

I woke up Sunday with it just feeling like a brewery day! One of the stops was Tri-Hop Brewery in Maryville!

There were many reasons to stop by:
🍺 I wanted to some good beer!
🐶 Tri-Hop always has some good boys and girls to give attention to!
⏰ It had been a minute due to life. It was time for a visit!

The little and I had a great time hanging out, and I enjoyed the Mexican lager and IPA I ordered!
