www.cawphotographystudio.com My photos tend to focus on plants, animals, and landscapes.

I'm originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but moved to Ohio after college. I have a Bachelor of Science from Ohio University and have worked in IT for the past 28 years. About 6 years ago I bought my first 'real' camera (Canon Rebel T5i, for those who are interested), and started taking pictures around Cincinnati. I started going to the Cincinnati Nature Center, entered their annual photo conte

st, and won 2nd place for 2 photographs. Then I was invited to be in their annual photo show, Nature in Focus. From there I started doing some in-person shows and selling on Etsy, and now selling on my own website. I also haul my gear on vacation for some more exotic locations. Please check out my work, and if you find something you like, consider bringing it home. To learn more about me and my work, please visit my website at

A coastal trail that keeps you looking ahead and slowing down at the same time. Devil’s Slide along the Pacific Coast Highway has that kind of pull — open air, rugged shoreline, and the steady rhythm of the ocean below.
I always love how these moments feel both peaceful and powerful. There’s something about standing along this stretch of California coast that makes everything else get a little quieter.

Have you ever taken in this view for yourself?

Yellowstone has a way of making every waterfall and river scene feel alive. This August 2024 view captures the movement of rushing water as it threads through rock and forest, with soft light adding even more depth to the landscape.
I love how a place like this reminds us that nature is always in motion, always changing, and always worth slowing down to appreciate.
Have you ever stood near a waterfall and just listened for a while?

A giant swallowtail spotted in Pacifica, California, bringing a little burst of movement to a quiet natural scene. I love when a butterfly gives you just enough time to notice the fine details — the shape of the wings, the contrast in the markings, and the way it settles into its surroundings.
Moments like this are a reminder to slow down and really look at what’s around us. Have you ever had a butterfly land close enough for you to study it like this?

Yellowstone never disappoints when it comes to dramatic water and wild scenery. This August 2024 view captures the energy of rushing river water moving through the landscape, with dark rock, evergreens, and soft light creating a strong sense of motion and depth.
I always love how a scene like this reminds me that the river is never still for long. It’s one of those places that makes you stop, breathe, and really take in the power of the natural world.
Have you ever watched water like this in person?

Año Nuevo State Park gave us one of those quiet coastal moments that stays with you. This elephant seal was stretched out in the sun, completely unbothered, with the Pacific Coast Highway nearby and the ocean just beyond the dunes.
I love how wildlife can remind us to slow down and appreciate the simple rhythm of a place. Have you ever stopped along the California coast and seen seals or sea lions doing their thing?

I'm sharing a simple study of a single pink tulip today. It sits against a deep black background and the reflective surface beneath gives the composition a quiet symmetry, letting the delicate petals and warm yellow center stand out. The restrained tones and clean shapes make it a calm, elegant option for a bedroom, entryway, or study. See it on the wall or explore finishes here: (Link in comments)

A restorative August morning along the Madison River in Yellowstone National Park always feels like a reset button for the soul. The open water, soft meadow grasses, and distant mountain walls create such a calm sense of space.
This is the kind of view that reminds me why I love spending time in wild places — there’s beauty in the stillness, and peace in simply taking it all in. Have you ever stood by a river and felt instantly grounded?
