Driving down familiar roads in winter, right after a always has a magical feel to them to me. All the on the trees, the chill in the air, and how green the pine trees look under all the snow on their boughs. That we had a few days ago was pretty wild and seeing many of the young trees bent over to the ground like in the ice storm many years ago is definitely a sight to see! I har the pleasure of working with this wonderful couple at the beginning of November. They were a joy to meet and I am thankful that they were willing to take a chance on me as this was my first official photoshoot with people. As a nature photographer, this was stepping outside my comfort zone and by both working with them and editing their photos, I learned several new editing methods which will prove useful down the road. Thank you again Diane and Mike! I hope these turned out just as you hoped they would!

Today is a day where I miss the warm days of summer. I can't wait to be through with all this cold, damp weather and back to the long days of warm summer breezes, windows open all day, and of course the beach! Soon!! I hope you all are staying safe, warm and cozy this winter with all your loved ones! What is your favorite way to spend the cold winter days?

If I offered some Halloween themed photoshoots, would anyone be interested? I'm thinking the classic Facebook/Instagram/tiktok style and a few others that could be fun. I will be offering the same for Thanksgiving and Christmas as well. I am just trying to get a new photography business off the ground, practice portrait photography(I am trying to expand on my usual nature photography skills), build interest and a portfolio. The secret microcosm beneath our feet can truly be stunningly colorful and awe inspiring when one stops to look. Mushrooms especially considering how genetically close we are to them. The uniqueness of each one is amazing and something of beauty to both respect and admire.
