Driving through South Florida on Wednesday, I came across a scene that was hard to forget — flames and heavy smoke rising from the Everglades wildfires, with the smoke plume stretching so far you could see it from Palm Beach County. Reports from NASA and local news showed multiple fires burning across western Miami-Dade near the Everglades this week, including the Quarry 2, Well, and Coptic fires, fueled by dry conditions and intense heat. Seeing it from the road made the scale feel very real.

Sometimes the sky puts on a show that feels almost unreal. I spotted these hypnotic colors glowing through the clouds on May 13th — soft bands of turquoise, pink, gold, and violet shifting through the sunlight. Not sure exactly what was happening up there, but it was definitely fun to see.

Took the kids fishing and grabbed a few photos around the marina while we were out. We caught a couple small fish, including this colorful little one — nothing huge, but the kids had a great time, and that’s what made the day.

Between the little catches, the boats, and the sunset over the water, it turned into one of those simple Florida evenings that’s hard to beat. 🎣🌅
