Hello, social media! It's been a struggle to post much of anything for a while. Honestly, it's difficult sharing happy and celebratory photos on here when so much has been negative and draining with the world in general. Joy is an act of resistance at this point. I'm still capturing different aspects of life for clients nonetheless.
It makes it difficult to have any online presence when I'm not posting though. I keep wanting to turn that around because I've been running my business solo and full-time for almost 10 years now. Having a social media presence is necessary these days when so many people rely on it for things going on around them. So much of that is photo-driven.
Professional photos are a luxury and I get that. When economic things are hitting so many people, family photos suddenly don't seem like a necessary expense. You still get what you pay for with photography. That hasn't changed at all.
I'm bringing 15 years of professional experience as a photographer. It shows in the way I capture things and interact with clients. It's important to have someone that not only takes amazing photos of you (and your pets), it's important to have someone that understands and can run every aspect of a business also.
Time doesn't stand still for anyone. Photos definitely help though. Take the photos. Preserve those memories.
