Every single woman brings black.
Not most of them. Every one. I’ve had clients drive in from three
counties with a suitcase and I could tell you what’s inside before
they unzip it — black lace, black bodysuit, black robe if she’s
feeling adventurous.
And black is genuinely great. It photographs beautifully, it never
feels like a risk, and nobody has ever regretted it.
But black is what you buy when you go shopping for “bo***ir.” It’s
the costume version. It’s what the internet told you the answer was.
The pieces that end up in the album — the ones she shows three
people before she’s out of the parking lot — are almost never the
ones bought for the occasion.
There’s one thing I ask almost every client to bring that nobody
ever guesses. It isn’t lingerie and it doesn’t cost anything.
The rest of the list is more predictable. The set she bought for
herself and never had anywhere to wear. The tights she thought
were too much. The shirt that isn’t lingerie at all.
None of it is about looking like someone else’s idea of a bo***ir
photo. It’s about opening the album and recognizing the woman in it.
Telling you what to pack is my job.
Comment GUIDE and I’ll send you the whole list.
