Why Me is a raw and intimate short documentary that exposes the hidden cost of survival. It traces one man’s extraordinary journey—from surviving three gunshot wounds on the unforgiving streets of Chicago to serving 32 years in the United States Navy. But the story takes a heartbreaking turn with the sudden death of his 36-year-old nephew, Kevin—a man who never got the chance to start a family or live the life he deserved.

Through overlapping memories, poetic reflection, unfiltered interviews, and unflinching narration, the film becomes more than a testimony of trauma. It transforms into a powerful meditation on faith, family, legacy, and resilience.
