Out on a short photo safari I was looking for insects for some macro shots. Instead I found this beauty. Sierra Nevada Ensatina - Ensatina eschscholtzii platensis. He was more than accommodating to pose for me while I dialed in my settings. The results speak for themselves selves. He is just amazing.

Absolutely beautiful Red Diamondback Rattlesnake ( Crotalus ruber ). These are such chill snakes and I love to have the opportunity to be able to see them and relocate them from someone’s backyard and place them where they can thrive safely.

They are a small but crucial part of the ecosystem and have a roll like every other animal in it. If you remove even one animal it can have devastating consequences on the ecosystem. It’s like your car engine. Try removing one small part and see how well it works after doing so.

I look forward to my next encounter with one of these beauties animals. .

Risk or skill???? 🤷‍♂️ Sometimes we have to do things to get that picture we want so badly. That said no picture is worth being hurt or dying over. I have my tricks to handle venomous snakes so please don’t do this unless you have experience with any type of venomous snake.

An incredibly beautiful example of a Northern Pacific Rattlesnake. I have handle many venomous snakes over the years and even had some as pets. They are a huge part of our ecosystem and they play a critical role in it.
