Just finished up a really big dragonfly for the wall...he's about 5' across! Too big to ship, so I'll probably have to sell at an art fair or gallery vs my Etsy store so it's a simple "handoff". If you can identify the different vintage pieces, leave a comment below :)

Back in the studio this week and I'm feeling inspired by an unfinished old wood ship model I found in a junk shop in North Carolina. It was in tough shape, missing it's sails, and just generally looking sad and dusty.

I'm thinking it needs a new life as a vintage looking "air ship", so I cleaned it up a bit, designed a frame from some scrap wood that will mount above it, and am experimenting with ideas on how to repurpose a cool looking old racing sail to cover the frame. Can you picture it? Or is this just my crazy brain?

Stay tuned...I'm going to get this vessel steampunked out and ready to hang before my next art show!

Goal for the was to create more than 20 new fish so folks would have a good selection to choose from for their porches, decks, etc. I cut up a vintage yellow metal sugar canister to create the little fins on this yellow-fin tuna ;)

I'm also bringing some of my birdhouses to the Uptown Art Fair...look for them in Booth #2212. Heads up: these usually sell out fast because they are functional (dimensions for Bluebird nesting and created with all environmentally safe materials for weatherproofing AND baby birds) but people keep buying them for indoor art at their and so they are also displayed on hearths and mantels!
