The past few weeks have absolutely flown by. Looking back on these days I’ve spent with you all it almost feels like months ago. The day of comes and goes in a flash, but reflecting on the emotions and moments we were able to create together is such a good reminder that it wasn’t just a day, but a story that we all got to play a part in. Thank you for letting me help you write it. 🫶🏼

Hey Babe Photos News + Updates:

As you may know, my life has turned into total chaos. If you haven't seen it on my Instagram - 3 months ago I took over as Lead Organizer for the ambulance service that I work for .. and all 650 EMTs + Paramedics .. the campaign goes through the end of November which aligns perfectly with .. photography season. 🫠

I know I owe a lot of you return emails about scheduling senior sessions, engagement sessions, you name it.

I love that you still want me to photograph these things for you. So. Instead of blowing it and forgetting to respond and then telling me its fine and then me thinking you hate me for months .. I actually took advantage of my booking calendar that I use!

There’s no pose or prompt or trick in the world that gets him to look at you like this. And as girls who live this kind of marriage on a daily basis, we won’t stop making sure you see the love written all over his face.

So. Just let him adore you. And let us worry about the rest. And let yourself .. just .. be loved. We will worry about making sure you can always look back on these moments, and you..? Just live them.

Yes, I agree, Saint Paul is the best place to do your engagement photos. Even if there is open to the public rolled skating that we knew nothing about and even if it randomly starts down pouring. That’s the fun of it all, it’s beautiful and perfect exactly how it is.

I forgot that I promised to start sharing more personal content on this page. Life is chaos and we haven’t even entered busy season. It’s all wonderful chaos that I invited into our lives, but my word has the summer flown by.

Updates:
In late spring I took on a new title I haven’t tried yet .. Lead Organizer. I am in the process of attempting to unionize 600 EMS colleagues in Minnesota and Wisconsin under the IAFF Fire & EMS union. It has brought me to a place where my passions can coexist .. leadership, branding and communication, and of course ambulance life. It’s a lot. A lot a lot. But we’re thriving. And we made some new friends who have already made me better professionally and personally.

I bullied Lacey into being a real life Hey Babe employee. She’s amazing. You’re going to love her. And. We get to gab in our down time. Last night as we shoveled delicious wedding food into our face we took turns just blurting out the plot lines of our past week.

Bunny sleeps harder than she trains but she is officially welcomed back into our many first responder homes to get to work, after the Big Poo Incident of June. A close friend of ours has been in the hospital for three weeks and Bunny has loved putting her training to use while bringing some smiles into an otherwise bad situation.

I’ve been photographing everything you can think of from firefighters to food to weddings and of course the gym.

I have had some great times on my bike with the guys, feeling good and strong .. and even sometimes off my bike … via exiting over the handlebars. Woof.

We pulled off a surprise party for my Moms big 6-0 and had a lot of fun hosting at our house and seeing all of her friends come celebrate her!

Oh yeah! And I turned 41 and one of the gals got me THE most amazing and emo punk rock birthday cake. 🖤

From my personal page. This is an extremely talented and good friend of mine who also happens to be one of our 911 Dispatchers ...

Good Morning! If you have been following along on Amanda's Caring Bridge you know that things aren't exactly going as fast as she/we would have hoped or liked and it has been sort of bad news after bad news. The plan is to get discharged from Southdale to a physical rehab facility over at the U, but the timeline has been pushed.

I know her Go Fund Me has been shared multiple times, but I also know that sometimes that does not feel personal. So. I did what all good friends do and went behind her back to get some of her art that I know she was selling. I also know that this is her busiest time of the year for her clay business and even though she hasn't brought it up yet, I imagine that she's been stewing on that as well .. because .. this is who she is.

All purchases can be made through me (do not use her Etsy site since nobody is checking it to ship orders) and we can line up delivery or what-not between us. North kids, obviously I can bring and drop at work.

In case you didn't know this side of her, she's probably the most talented person I've ever met but rarely shows off her work or brags about herself.

Also, we all know you're about to go raid Home Goods for spooky season stuff, so why not buy from a local artist who is out of work indefinitely?
