One Year of Views By Amanda Sue✨

I have been crying while typing this 🤍

As a business owner, you have to be proud of yourself… and learn to be your own biggest cheerleader. Some days that’s the hardest part.

Photography didn’t start with a fancy camera for me.

It started with an iPhone… and my mom’s old Nikon that I was always stealing.

She probably got so tired of me taking it, they ended up getting me my very own Fujifilm camera for Christmas. It wasn’t anything high-end or fancy… but to me, it was everything ✨

Back then, I spent most of my time photographing horses—something I’ve always loved. That’s where it all began.

But life shifted.

My camera stopped working, and I slowly stepped away from photography and poured everything into horse training instead.

If I’m being honest… 4H had one of the biggest impacts on me during that time. I remember in 2016 being surrounded by other kids my age who loved photography just as much as I did. We hyped each other up, swapped cameras, learned together… and it didn’t matter who had the “better” gear. We were just passionate.

(Also… I’ll be sharing a few photos from back then—and a throwback of me from 2016… thank goodness for a glow up 🤍)

Fast forward to today… and I now show up to sessions carrying thousands of dollars worth of gear for something I once built with a $200 camera.

And it still doesn’t feel real.

After maternity leave, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life and walked away from my 8–5 job. I still work at the wedding venue I’ve been at for almost two years now… but photography?

Photography changed everything for me.

Now I get to:
watch families laugh together 🤍
cry behind my camera during weddings
listen to private vows that I’ll never forget
watch women grow into incredible mothers
see babies turn into toddlers
capture seniors stepping into their next chapter

These aren’t just “sessions” to me.

They’re moments. Real ones. The kind you can’t get back.

I never imagined this little passion of mine would turn into something so meaningful, so quickly… but I am so incredibly thankful it did.

And to everyone who has supported me—whether you’ve booked, shared my name, recommended me, or simply cheered me on…

thank you 🤍 it truly means more than you know.

The sleepless nights, the comforting hugs, the school pickups, the messy homes, the endless love — motherhood is one of the most beautiful things to capture. ✨

As a photographer, some of my favorite moments are the quiet in-between ones. The way your little ones look at you, hold your hand, or run into your arms without a second thought. Those are the moments worth remembering forever. 🕊️

To every mama, grandma, bonus mom, and mother figure — today is for you. Thank you for all that you do and all of the love you give so freely. 🤍
