Here’s something kind of cool, or well, in this case, warm.

Today marks our 75th straight day without seeing a temperature below 70°, the second longest streak all time in Charleston.

We will likely break this record by Friday, and the streak will continue to grow as we head into next week.

Did you notice how much nicer it was today?

Temperatures nearly 5-10° cooler across the state, but another big difference was the humidity. Dewpoints in the 60s and lower 70s (as opposed to the upper 70s and near 80 like yesterday) made it feel much more pleasant out there this afternoon!

Unfortunately temperatures will climb back into the lower 90s by the end of the week, but at least it’s cooler than last week!

Things have been a little quieter than expected so far, but we are still watching a few thunderstorms out there, one moving across Berkeley county, and a severe warned storm that will approach Western Dorchester, Berkeley and Colleton county over the next couple hours.

We do still expect a few more isolated thunderstorms this evening and any storm that does form could produce frequent lightning, gusty winds, heavy rain and small hail, so please be weather aware, especially if out on the water or beach.

The storms we were watching have weakened, and we are still watching a couple of stray thundershowers out there, but the threat for any severe weather this evening is OVER.

We will have another, more widespread round of showers and storms tomorrow afternoon.

OLD - Severe Thunderstorm Watch Likely

Watching a line thunderstorms over the Northern part of South Carolina that will be moving our way over the next couple of hours, this line will bring with it a risk of strong gusty winds, frequent lightning and heavy rain as it pushes through this evening.

A watch will likely be issued shortly, and we’ll be watching all the storms as they move into the Lowcountry.
