- a few days later, they developed facial nerve paralysis, known as Bell’s palsy

- the risk exists, but it remains low when proper food hygiene practices are followed and food is obtained from reliable sources
- the best prevention is fresh ingredients, proper food storage, and choosing reputable restaurants
- there is no reason to panic because of isolated cases, but food safety should never be ignored

Police were called to a Texas man’s home after neighbors reported a disturbance and expressed concern about what might be happening inside. When officers arrived, they repeatedly used a megaphone to order him to come outside.

Because there was no response, police believed the man was refusing to cooperate, and the situation escalated into a standoff that lasted roughly 40 minutes.

The man later claimed he never heard the officers because he was inside watching television. According to him, very little outside noise carries into his home, so he was unaware that police were attempting to contact him.

Eventually, officers entered the residence by force and arrested him. He was charged with domestic violence, failure to comply with lawful orders, and obstruction of justice. While police viewed his lack of response as deliberate defiance, the man insisted he had no idea they were outside and was not intentionally resisting.
