www.kbrookephotos.com I got my first DSLR while I was in college, and have not stopped learning since.

I believe in growth vs. perfection and I feel my clients appreciate that as well as look forward to a unique experience each time we work together. Life is not about a perfect frame, and I have always strived to shine light on the beauty of imperfection and realness in a couple, a family and their children. I'm so thankful that I was raised by parents who shared a love of the arts & film and have

supported me through this journey, as well as my husband and our babies, as well as his family! I have a bachelors degree in Public Relations from CSUS {Sac State}, and that has helped me as I ventured into creating this business. I believe it's important as a photographer, to not only admire life and other peoples' journeys, but also be able to communicate yourself, your vision and what your business has to offer others. I have also been supportive of others {Photographers, artists, business owners} around me, because to me, community matters. I am so thankful to all of those who have supported me in this journey of establishing myself as a photographer, creator & artist. I look forward to capturing your life's most precious moments and milestones.

Crazy how much time can pass and still feel like yesterday. I remember this moment so vividly.

I didn’t know Scott Mason Thomas was taking this photo but thankful he did because this was absolutely the moment I decided I would always be an entrepreneur.

16 years in the making and now having experience in a number of industries as a business owner, the coast is still where all my inspiration comes from. 🐚🌊

🗺️ There is something almost otherworldly about…

📍 Lake Tahoe, CA 🌊

I was spoiled to grow up just an hour away and later marry the love of my life in this magical place. Over the years, we’ve made endless memories here as a family, so naturally, this is a photograph I hope to one day have hanging on my own walls.

A little history, if you’ve never been…

Sitting more than 6,200 feet above sea level and stretching between California and Nevada, Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America and, at 1,645 feet deep, the second-deepest lake in the United States. Its legendary clarity and extraordinary depth give the water that unmistakable blue that never quite looks real, even when you’re standing right in front of it.

More than two million years old, Tahoe holds nearly 39 trillion gallons of water and is fed by 63 streams, with only one, the Truckee River, flowing out.

And tucked along the shores of Emerald Bay where this photo was taken by me during a hike sits Vikingsholm, a remarkable Scandinavian-inspired home built in the late 1920s as the summer retreat of Lora Josephine Knight. Two hundred workers helped hand-hew its timbers, carve its details and forge its hinges and latches, with much of the material sourced from the Tahoe Basin. Today, it’s considered one of the finest examples of Scandinavian architecture in the Western Hemisphere and it has remained preserved as a place you can tour.

There is a wildness and mystique here that feels almost as ancient as the lake itself. A winter playground for avid skiers and a world of endless hikes, beaches and adventure in the summer, Lake Tahoe offers one of the most diverse mountain lifestyles I’ve ever experienced.

Lake Tahoe, captured along the way.

Why is this so aesthetically pleasing? 💛

My favorite thing about living here is watching so many California based brands find refuge in the south right now.

When you walk into a place of business, take note how you feel. Branding is the most intentional aspect of your business. If you aren’t moving people, it’s time to go back to the drawing board.

The Sutter Club was founded in January 1889 after months of discussion and planning by the city’s commercial, agricultural, governmental and social leaders. Nineteen months later the first rooms of The Sutter Club were formally opened in the California State Bank at 4th and J streets.

Among the original founders were the original “Forty-Niners,” men who had come west to seek their fortunes in the gold fields. Their children, first generation Californians, comprised the rest of the founding group. The Club was home there for nearly 40 years.

Many of the city’s leading businesses and legal firms were started by Members of The Sutter Club and have contributed two, three or four generations of Members. Most of California’s Governors have belonged to the Club. Chief Justice Earl Warren and Justice Kennedy were also included in the Club’s roster of Members.

In 1930, the present home of the Club was completed and opened for occupancy. During the 1930’s, and well in the 1970’s, The Sutter Club was the social hub of Sacramento. Throughout the last quarter century, many other facilities have come onto the scene to share the tremendous growth of social and charitable activities, as Sacramento grew into a major metropolitan area.

Throughout its history, The Sutter Club and its Members have enjoyed a prominent place in the social and cultural life of Sacramento. Well into its second century, the Club continues to cultivate a dynamic membership of outstanding citizens, accomplished professionals and community leaders. It stands strong today and looks to a bright future, as rich and storied as its past.
