The time has *finally* arrived!

I'll be offering a few different Christmas Mini's this year. First, I'll be offering my classic Christmas Bed set up at The River’s Edge Experience on November 9th! The River's Edge is such a beautiful venue, and I can't wait to decorate it up for Christmas.

Last, but certainly not least, I'm so very excited to partner with the J.F. Glidden Homestead to offer Christmas Minis at the birthplace of barbed wire in DeKalb! The proceeds from these sessions will be donated back to the homestead, so not only are you getting great photos, you're supporting their efforts to preserve such an important piece of history!

Hey! Just a quick note that I am out of office!

I'm a girl who loves a theme.

Which is part of why branding photography is so much freaking fun. Because I have incredible friends who have incredible business that are so different and so unique. Like my friend Crystal over at Pirate Mom Soapworks who makes this incredible soap. And photographing her soap required a certain level of creativity, because I really wanted to make sure that the images would fit with HER brand and not look like it could belong to any other company except for hers.

It occurred to me that the inside of my attic could look like the inside of a pirate ship, so upstairs I headed with all of my gear and a bag full of Pirate Mom products. These photos were the result.

It is so fun for me to stretch my creative brain in different directions and try new things. And I love the challenge of trying to look into another entrepreneurs brain, really understand their branding, and then come up with some completely unique to them.

Also, my high school pirate phase came in super handy for this because I had a ton of props in a bag that I was able to pull out and use to really dress this up.

Creek Mini Sessions | June 22, 2025 | $100 | 10 Minutes | 5 Digital Images

Franklin Creek State Natural Area is one my families favorite parks. Its a beautiful park, and it has a really easy, paved walking path, and we can push the stroller all the way back to the spring. On hot days it is always cool under the tree cover by the spring, and you can easily wade in the shallow area of the creek there.

The last time that I took my "good" camera there doesn't feel like that long ago, but looking back at these pictures it was longer ago than I thought, because that is Warren, not Elinor, in the water with Austin. 🤣

Sandra came into the studio for some quick headshots! She told me that she was just getting frustrated trying to take selfies on her own at home, and just needed some help. I think the colors she chose to wear really made her blue eyes pop! What do you think?

Sandra is a writer, and while she's getting copies of all of her headshots in color, I also included a few black and white versions in her gallery, in case one of her publications publishes only in black and white.
