There are a lot of things I'll confidently call myself.
A sports photographer.
A storyteller.
Someone who loves documenting moments that matter.
A wedding photographer? I've never really said that. Honestly - I’ve told myself and any potential client that first hand.
I've always told people, "I'm not a wedding photographer." Not because I don't love weddings, but because I hold so much respect for the people who dedicate their careers to them. Weddings are once-in-a-lifetime days, and that's a responsibility I've never taken lightly.
But this one was different.
Years ago, I had the privilege of getting to know the groom as one of the football players at Coastal Carolina. Watching him grow from a student-athlete into the man standing at the end of the aisle was something I'll never forget. Being trusted to document one of the biggest days of his life was an incredible honor.
This wedding reminded me that photography has never really been about fitting into a category. It's about relationships. It's about trust. It's about preserving moments that can never be recreated.
So while I still don't know if I'll ever call myself a wedding photographer... I'm incredibly grateful I got to be their photographer.
Congratulations to the newlyweds. Thank you for trusting me with your story. 🤍
