Magnolia Grill really won me over! It has a glassed-in deck that provides spectacular, uninterrupted views of the river. It's the perfect stop for a meal right on the historic riverfront.

Might I also add, they were very accommodating to my questions when I called in a to go order with special requests as I was heading back home from a 9 hour drive. Then they filled up my gigantic thermos with ice water for my drive home

This place was ultimately shut down due to horrendous treatment by staff against young detainees.

It rotted away over the years, but that didn't stop the eerie feeling that swept over when you'd enter the property.

Temple Gemiluth Chassed was built in an unusual Moorish Revival architectural style and is the oldest surviving synagogue in the state.

It cost between $5,500 and $7,000 to build and it served the local Jewish merchant community for decades before closing in 1978.

Why do we not have more unique historical structures like this still standing in Mississippi?

Locals call it the Hermit Hut, but it was originally built to be a Death Hut. In 1923, Henry Stuart was given one year to live.

He built this hand-poured concrete dome in Fairhope, AL, to spend his final days... but then he forgot to die, outliving his diagnosis by 22 years.
