Di's DigiScraps This page is dedicated to ways to preserve your memories in digital form! In addition to the "digi" part, check out the photos for other fun memory ideas!

I'm not JUST talking about 'digital scrapbooking' but putting your CURRENT albums in digital form! My name is Diana Meredith. I have always loved looking at picture albums as long as I can remember. I started taking pictures with my own camera in 5th grade, and still have all those cherished memories! I have done traditional scrapbooking since I can remember, and moved into the digital world sever

al years ago as well. I want to help people get those memories off their phones and into book form. Whether they keep it as a digital album or have it printed is up to them!

Idea 18: there are a couple of trends going on right now that I decided to do a mash up with. The first is having a memorial area at a wedding. This can be so important in the bride and groom honoring the lost people they love so much. Another trend in the shadow box world is a museum or art gallery look, where you have small framed pics and little museum guests looking on. So bam! Mash up! The candle burning piece did shift during the picture and covered up the g in the quote but other that that not too bad lol

Idea 17: saw on another craft page and just dug around and found stuff to make one of our own. I ran into a little snafu, my frame was too small. So I thought and thought and bam! An idea! But that idea made me đŸ˜± The pieces that came apart weren’t the right pieces. But hey what the heck I improvised. I got a couple of Mason jar lids, used the burlap from the original frame, found some fancy keys from a wedding shower and used them to cover up the gaps. I have a cooler idea for those spots and will update later (it’s something I have to order!) but for now it works.

Idea 16: tic-tac-toe! So most of the pre-done elements came from Hobby Lobby but this would be easy to make out of almost anything. That’s the joy of this game! You can use a penny and nickel and you are set haha! My mother-in-law loves chickens so I decided on this as a birthday treat. I did have to get two so I would have enough chickens and eggs for my idea (but that leaves me with a board for another project!!). The “chickens” have her children and their spouses’ first initials decoupaged on them. The “eggs” have the grandkids’ first initials on them. I also got the cute “welcome to the coop” banner on sale for a buck! I added the tiny bows on the back so the wood wouldn’t scratch up any table it’s laying on. I put all the extra chicks and eggs into a decorative drawstring bag for storage!

Idea 15: I saw a really cute project that I want to make out of bottle caps. Well, until I gather the amount I need, I need somewhere to put them! Enter another project idea! I wanted a large jar for the back porch close to our wall mounted bottle opener. I found this old pickle jar in the laundry room. I was going to use the screw on lid but it was too rusty so I dug around in our junk drawer and found this silicone travel dog bowl. It is was too small for our boys so I cut a hole in the top. Now it will be outside so I didn’t want dust or bugs in it so I cut up an old jar gripper that was falling apart (because my mother-in-law made me some cuter ones anyway!) and super glued one side under the hole in the bowl. It stays closed until you pop a top into the jar! I used an old clock facing from another project and added the quote. Now this is not fancy by any means and nothing special! It’s going to be sitting outside most of the time so I didn’t embellish about! I did add lines on the back though (thank you Pinterest 😂) that’s say beginner, intermediate and expert haha! đŸ» Now we just need to have a get together so my friends can fill the jar haha!

We’ve had a lot of family things going on lately. Illnesses, episodes, er visits, and sadly a death in the family too. We are all getting back into the mix of things so I will be playing catch up today! We lost the end of July and most of August! I said I was going to do 31 days of ideas for July. I may be late but I will complete the 31 ideas! Stay tuned for some quick and easy repurposing and just fun things!

Idea 14: we had an old gumball machine that I’ve used for numerous things! (Affirmation jar, dog treats, trinket items and buttons, etc) I’ve seen several version of using these as bird feeders so I tweaked it for us. I didn’t want to hang the top portion because we had the stand and really like it. I will eventually make a more decorative base area for it and the yellow serving tray will be painted red to match! Because the bird seed is small and will just flow out, I put an old cd inside. I usually just scoop the seed out from the top with my hand when I need to refill the tray. I decided to use these tray so the birds would have an area to land. This one works great because it’s hard plastic and multiple birds can have their own section! If I know it’s going to rain a lot I just cover it with a trash bag so the seed in the tray doesn’t get yucky!

Idea 13: This one was so fun! I dug around in my Christmas stash and got inspired! I picked this magnetic tray up at a garage sale, used magnetic spice containers I already had, the cozy Christmas box in the middle is actually a gift card holder. I did order these fun lights to put inside each container to give it a snow globe look. I also added a strand of fairy lights around the edge. I propped the tray on a picture stand and Santa (or Grandma and PawPaw) can easily pop some Christmas cash in each ‘snow globe’ since the tags have the grandkids names on them! Easy peasy, a little festive and fun, and reusable and customizable! This could be a cute idea for birthdays too!

Idea 12: certain keepsake items just can’t be in a flat book. Some are just so special they need to be on display. I had won a credit at a furniture store and really didn’t need anything but came across this beautiful giant lantern shaped display item. I had to fill it with something! So I added a couple of small battery light options and put our precious wedding & anniversary items in and around it. Almost 27 years of memories right here, with prayers of many more to come đŸ€

Idea 11: event posters. We used to have a Halloween party every year! One fun addition to the decorations was our “ghosts of Halloween past” display. I would make these posters each year and hang them around the house for people to look at previous costumes and parties! This would also be a really fun idea for family reunions. Lots of photo providers like Shutterfly, Snapfish and even Walgreens have poster templates and options. As you can probably see by the curls, I usually keep mine rolled up and put away until the fall! You could even have them laminated for extra protection!
