On this day, back in 2009!! Something I never thought I'd see come down to New Brighton, a DM&IR SD38-2. It was seen backing down the west wye as it put the Commercials cars away. This power still exists, but wears CN colors, and is captive to Proctor, MN.

Progressive Rails latest locomotive is KRR 3201, former CGW 403. This locomotive was last in service on the RCP&E, before being acquired by PGR. While it's still in G&W colors, it'll be getting a FRESH coat of Chicago Great Western colors, in the next year. This locomotive started its life back in August of 1966!

Check this somber memory out! Its not often you get to see the LAST train running on rails before the line is gone! After Weyerhaeuser shut down, this trackage in Minneapolis and Saint Paul was done for. Even the tracks near the end of this video, are now, no longer used. Some of these rails were torn out and paved over VERY quickly.

Amtrak's highly successful, Borealis, rolls under the classic signal bridge at Hoffman Ave just outside of downtown Saint Paul. The cool looking leader, and glowing evening sun, made the colors in this scene pop!

Annandale, MN 15 years ago! Even back in 2011, a matching trio of Candy Apple Soo units was a treat to see on the mainline. Canadian Pacific train 491 was seen roaring, and smoking, its way west on a BEAUTIFUL MaY Day. I would chase this train ALL the way to Glenwood, MN.
