The highly venomous Timber Rattle Snake!
Often referred to in these regions as the "Canebrake" rattlesnake, its venom contains neurotoxins that attack the nervous system, potentially leading to muscle paralysis and respiratory failure. This one was found blending in a highly wooded area. If it wasn't pointed out to me, I would have never noticed.... SCARY

This Northern Mockingbird is displaying its distinct white wing patches. They are known as accomplished mimics, often singing complex songs for hours. This species is a year-round resident in many areas and is the state bird of Mississippi.

I walked past this cone that was on top of a pole about eye level from me and didn't even notice this little sucker until it moved to face me. I was thinking "it isn't looking at me", so I started taking a couple of steps to the left then the right and every time I moved so did it! I slowly grabbed my camera bc now I am fully aware that it was ready for battle.
