💡Spotlight on Crone! After I was inspired by the belly dancer (see origin story in previous reel), I wanted to create something a little different than trees with the dancer contained within. The body had to be the focus in the Strength series! Her beautiful texture was inspired by the wrinkly loose skin of old age. Those lines mark our experiences, our journeys, and our growth. The Crone, with her wisdom of years, is settled into her power.
She is gracefully arched with her face held to the warming sunshine. Her clothing is made from nature itself, a reminder of where we come from and where we will return.
Creating Crone was a wonderful experience, and I still feel warmth when I see her. The stigmas and biases against aging inundate us daily. We will all age; it's inevitable. Let us celebrate aging and all the strengths and wisdom that come with it!
