At 59, Pamela Anderson walked one of Venice's most glamorous red carpets looking almost nothing like the heavily made-up icon people remember from the 1990s.
And that was exactly the point.
At the 2026 amfAR Gala in Venice, Pamela appeared in a floor-length orange satin Calvin Klein Collection gown with a matching shawl and softly styled blonde hair. 👗
Her face, however, was kept remarkably natural.
For the past few years, Pamela has deliberately moved away from the dramatic makeup that once became part of her public image. Some appearances have been completely makeup-free, while others use only an extremely minimal look.
The change began for a deeply personal reason.
After her longtime makeup artist and close friend Alexis Vogel died from breast cancer in 2019, Pamela said continuing the old glamorous routine no longer felt right.
Eventually, going natural became something else too.
Freedom.
At Paris Fashion Week in 2023, she surprised the fashion world by appearing without the elaborate makeup normally expected at such events. She later described the decision as freeing, fun and even a little rebellious. ✨
Three years later in Venice, she was still making the same choice.
But this time, the evening wasn't only about how she looked.
Pamela was there to receive amfAR's Award of Courage for her philanthropic work and support for HIV/AIDS research. During her speech, she also reflected on surviving hepatitis C, an illness she once feared could dramatically shorten her life.
For decades, Pamela Anderson was famous partly because of an image created with big hair, heavy eyeliner and carefully constructed Hollywood glamour.
Now she seems just as comfortable letting people see the woman underneath it.
