6 мая 2015 года в Государственном музее искусств РК им. А. Кастеева открылись юбилейная выставка «В бою и в тылу…» из фондов музея, посвященная 70-летию Победы в Великой Отечественной войне, фотовыставка из Центрального Государственного архива кино-фотодокументов РК и Национального архива США и небольшая выставка ветерана войны Ысхака Уразаева.

На выставке «В бою и в тылу…» представлены произведения советских и казахстанских художников – участников Великой Отечественной войны, и работы о героях войны, а также о тех, кто работал в тылу, помогая фронту. С каждым днем воспоминания о Великой Отечественной войне уходят в историю, все меньше в праздничном строю остается ветеранов.

Но их искусство продолжает жить в их произведениях. На выставке представлены полотна художников, которые честно выполнив свой воинский долг, вернулись на родину, но тема войны еще долгие годы отражалась в их творчестве, повествуя о тяжелых днях и испытаниях, выпавших на их долю. Они считали своим долгом перед будущими поколениями запечатлеть увиденное и пережитое. Искусство художников - ветеранов, которые своим трудом помогали приблизить победу, является своеобразным памятником Великой Отечественной войны, а также призывом к ныне живущим беречь мир и жизнь на земле.

Генеральное консульство США в г. Алматы представило фотовыставку, посвященную 70-й годовщине победы сил союзников во Второй Мировой войне, включающую в себя фотографии боя на передовых линиях фронта, подвиги женщин на войне, жизнь Казахстана и США в тылу, а также фотографии, иллюстрирующие сотрудничество союзных войск Соединенных Штатов и Советского Союза, включая Казахскую Советскую Социалистическую Республику (Каз ССР).

80 фоторабот, некоторые из которых ранее не были представлены широкой общественности, принадлежат Национальному управлению архивов и документации США и Центральному государственному архиву кинофотодокументов и звукозаписей Республики Казахстан.

To any of our clients and colleagues out there who may be wondering how Jacques' part-time residence in Central Asia will affect Happening Photos, here's the skinny:

First, Happening Photos will continue to serve our clients as we always have. HP Cofounder Steve Hart and our associates will keep shooting, and Jacques will handle client communications, logistics, etc., from Almaty. Ain't the Internet a wonderful thing?

Second, Jacques will spend some of his time in the US and some of it abroad. When he's in the US, he will join Steve in photographing for our clients. He may even travel to the US specifically to work on larger jobs.

Third, Jacques will be actively working to bring Happening Photos' services to Central Asia. On his first day in Almaty, he booked a trade forum and a PR event. Almaty is a thriving city with a lot of international business, so prospects look good.
