Why does the St. Johns River look like that? 😅

That’s been one of the most common questions this week by Jacksonville residents when they found out that the triathletes were going to be swimming 2.4 miles in the St. Johns this Saturday morning — so & I brought in the expert to help us understand; , the Sustainability Manager for the City of Jacksonville.

The water quality in the river is tested constantly and proved to be well beyond safety levels. Now, that doesn’t mean go drink the water, but it does mean that it’s safe to swim in!

Don’t forget that a significant amount of seafood that we eat in the city does come from the St Johns 😬

Are ya’ll with Rachel by the end of the video? 😅

ONE week from today until the final one of the season!

Sip & Stroll — presented by PNC Bank — takes place on the 3rd Thursday of the month on the Southbank Riverwalk. The May 21st date will end this season, and they’ll be back on September 17th, after their summer hiatus.

If you’ve never been, Sip & Stroll is a true community staple and spans from Friendship Fountain to Chart House and features live music & art, food trucks & carts, riverside bars, picnic areas, and one of the best ways to see the Jacksonville sunset.

A HUGE thank you to for his words in this video!

Each time I meet a new resident of Jacksonville, I end up going through the same list of accounts & events they should follow to help integrate them into the city, so I figured having a dedicated post to send them might save me (& you) some time in the future.

I underestimated the task of choosing just a few accounts to highlight in this post, & ended up with a list of about 200. 😅

I created sub-categories of every kind of account you can think of; the foodies, dj’s, venues, bookstores, event creators, etc. Instead of overwhelming you with the full list, I’ll release them throughout the next few weeks categorically and will build out a comprehensive list on the Cre8Jax website.

Don’t forget, only the boring get bored 🖖
