9th Annual His Holiness the Dalai Lama Gratitude Memorial Football Tournament Opens in New York

The Tibetan Youth Congress of New York and New Jersey successfully held the opening ceremony of the 9th Annual His Holiness the Dalai Lama Gratitude Memorial Football Tournament on September 5, 2026.
The tournament is organized as an expression of gratitude and respect for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, celebrating his lifelong commitment to the Tibetan people, compassion, peace, and the preservation of Tibetan identity and culture.
The opening ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Tsering Chosfel, President of the Central Tibetan Youth Congress, who attended as the Chief Guest. His participation added significance to the occasion and encouraged the younger generation to remain united, engaged, and committed to the Tibetan community.
The event brought together Tibetan youth, community members, athletes, supporters, and well-wishers in a spirit of friendship, solidarity, and sportsmanship.
