How to Make a Cold Brew Coffee
Ingredients:
1 cup coarse coffee grounds
4 cups cold water
Equipment:
A large jar or pitcher
A fine-mesh sieve
A coffee filter
Serving glasses
Measuring cup
Instructions:
Prepare the Grounds: Coarsely grind your choice of coffee beans. Use 1 cup of these grounds.
Combine & Steep: In a large jar, add the 1 cup of coarse coffee grounds and 4 cups of cold water. Give it a gentle stir to ensure all grounds are wet.
Steep Time: Seal the jar and let it steep for 12 to 18 hours. This can be done in the refrigerator or at room temperature.
Strain: Once steeping is complete, pour the coffee through a fine-mesh sieve, followed by a coffee filter to remove all sediment.
Storage: Transfer the concentrated cold brew to a clean container. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
Serve: Dilute the concentrate in a 1:1 ratio with water or milk. Serve over ice.
