Jason Lemon

Jason Lemon Jason Lemon is a journalist and a senior editor at Newsweek, focused on politics. Nonetheless, his work, as you have seen, is pretty damn good.

Jason Lemon is a photographer originally from southwest Michigan who has traveled the planet somewhat extensively but not quite enough to be fully satisfied. Regardless, his travels have aided him significantly in learning pretty awesome Spanish and some fairly good French. His work has been published in several local and national publications none of which are terribly well known. He has also had

his work displayed in galleries across an incredibly small portion of the Midwest. Jason endeavors to showcase diversity and narrative in every image he creates. Some have described his work as exuding a sense of drama, uniting the greater volume of his work into a more cohesive whole. When seeing him work on set—interacting with models and subjects—it is evident that he has a vision for the final product. If you would like to hire Jason, view more of his work, or write him hate mail because you despise him or his images, you can feel free to contact him by phone, email, text, or carrier pigeons if you’d prefer.

NEW: Trump is remaking Latin America in his Image and Peru as well as Colombia may be next

The hemisphere is undergoing its sharpest political realignment in a generation, one that Trump has done more than any other single actor to accelerate, and one that Colombia and Peru, both heading into runoff elections this month, are on the verge of completing.

Across Latin America, a wave of right-wing governments has taken power over the past two years, reshaping the region's political map and tilting it toward Washington in ways not seen in decades. If the trend holds, the left-wing governments that defined the region's last political era will be reduced to a shrinking archipelago.

NEW: Long shot efforts for Supreme Court term limits are gaining momentum among Democrats

Congressman Ro Khanna referred Newsweek to a Fox News poll showing 78 percent of voters supported 18-year term limits for the justices. "We should bring my bill to the floor for a vote. This Court has lost all moral authority," he said.

In May a Democratic resolution for constitutional amendment was introduced. Meanwhile a separate legislative push has steadily gained cosponsors in recent months.

Notably, polling consistently shows broad bipartisan support—including majorities of Republicans—for term-limiting the justices. At the same time, it's seen as extremely unlikely to pass. Here's a closer look at the effort and why it's not expected to succeed any time soon.

New from me, I did an EXCLUSIVE interview with Nancy Pelosi challenger Saikat Chakrabarti for Newsweek

While Pelosi, known for her political savvy and fundraising prowess, may be a formidable opponent, Chakrabarti, 39, is no stranger to taking on a powerful incumbent and winning. As the co-founder of the progressive organization Justice Democrats, Chakrabarti was instrumental to Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's 2018 upset primary victory in New York—defeating powerful former Representative Joe Crowley, who was then serving as the chair of the House Democratic Caucus.

Chakrabarti told Newsweek he sees the present as a "huge moment of change" for his party and the country.

"Democrats need to be presenting an actual plan for how we reverse this long-term decline that's been happening for much of the country," he said.

NEW from me, I did an EXCLUSIVE interview for Newsweek with Florida's Democratic Senate candidate Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, in which we discussed Venezuela, immigration and her opponent, incumbent Republican Senator Rick Scott, in depth.

"What we're seeing in these past few weeks is that Maduro is refusing to recognize the results of that election. He has been targeting the opposition. He has been making threats of imprisoning Edmundo González and María Corina Machado. We know for a fact that many Venezuelans have already been imprisoned for speaking out. I have family, actually, in Venezuela—have very good friends that live in Venezuela and there's this extended family member who is a journalist who is extremely worried and scared," Mucarsel-Powell told me.

The Florida Democrat slammed progressives backing socialist policies as "completely ignorant."

NEW from ME. I did an EXCLUSIVE interview with Lucas Kunce, who is running for Senate against incumbent Senator Josh Hawley in Missouri.

"We are really trying to take power back from politicians like Josh Hawley, who want to control us and take our power away," Kunce told Newsweek. "He wants to control us in the bedroom, the doctor's office, the workplace. He was a right-to-work guy, anti-union. He won't protect IVF or contraception."

The Missouri Senate candidate says his opponent is a "typical country club" Republican who wants to "control" state voters.
