Alondra and Sunny are the real deal. They even carried a cake across New York (literally!) and just before their session it got smashed and they were so sad. But would you even know it when looking at these?

Romance and real love always win out. Cake smashes aren’t the end. When you embrace the imperfection of your photo session and even all the imperfect things that lead up to your photo shoot, I think you’ll find it’s still a good time and you’re allowed to let go and just enjoy one another. Remember always, a photo session is just a celebration of your love.

You’ve Got Mail PROPOSAL in Riverside Park at the People Garden. If you thought seeing Joe Fox (F-O-X) and ShopGirl kiss at the end of the movie (spoiler!) is romantic…. Then you would love that Julia got to say “yes” to a life of love together with Gillian in this spot.

From an expert whose been doing this a long time, I can tell you that the best thing about having a photo session or proposal in NYC is that you get to have a VARIETY of locations in your photos. Future parents, let’s break the mold and use art you’re actually inspired by to create your Maternity photos. Isa and Caio were not only the absolute sweetest, they are going to be the coolest parents.

For their Maternity session, Isa and I met over video chat to really discuss artistic direction. And I love that she really wanted something urban/street focused, and Even inspired by Wong Kar-Wai, whose style is incredibly contrasty and cinematic. While we could have leaned even harder to his style if we’d taken these at night, I still really love what we were able to accomplish with the subway and grafffiti photos.

While I ultimately take the photos, it’s incredibly rewarding to work with a couple who has a vision and wants me to run with it.
