5 full days of celebrating Stroll on Nantucket! It was a pleasure having Leah, Todd & Will as our guests this weekend. We partied like rock stars 🥂🌲🕺 Had the best time at the Festival of Trees, Afterglow, Brant Point Grill, Deck the Halls, the MOST fun at a private party dancing and rocking our wigs, Billie’s, Ho Ho Disco, Or the Whale & Cisco Brewery to end the weekend. Grateful for all the love and friendships, and time spent together both in small and large gatherings. Until next year …

Check out the October Gardens 🎃🧡Whilst shopping today, I can across this amazing assortment of PUMPKINS & GOURDS!

Their farm grown pumpkins and gourds are on display and ready for fall centerpieces and displays! There were so many varieties that it was difficult to choose.

Fun pumpkin facts - Pumpkins are a fruit and come in many shades of white, green, gray, yellow, pink and so are multicolored! Shapes and textures also vary considerably and they are more than just Halloween decorations, they are delicious! I use them in soups and pies.

According to Bartlett Farm’s recent blog “The pumpkin is a symbol of abundance, prosperity, and good fortune, and its association with the harvest season has made it an important part of the autumn season. The pumpkin’s ability to produce so much food from a single seed is a testament to its importance as a food source and symbol of abundance.”

Tips for Picking Out your Pumpkins:

🎃 A sturdy stem is a good sign of a healthy pumpkin, and it’s best to handle your pumpkin by the body. During the harvesting process some pumpkins lose their stems, so the absence of one is ok.
🎃 Make sure the pumpkin is firm, with no large soft spots or blemishes. A soft or mushy pumpkin will not last long.
🎃 If you’re carving a pumpkin, consider one with a flat, even, base to prevent it from rolling or toppling over.
🎃 Store your pumpkin in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat. Be gentle when moving and handling it – bruising or punctures will only speed up the decomposition of the pumpkin.
🎃 If you have a group of pumpkins, keep an eye on them! Remove rotten or moldy pumpkins from the group promptly to prevent rot from spreading to the others.
