I created this set up for a different purpose. She was going to dance her arms in the air slowly giving a bit of swaying motion. (She did and those shots are gorgeous.) But it was the space before that shot. She was getting herself prepared, putting her hat on, and I just happened to look up from adjusting my camera settings. We had her place the hat on again, slowly (as you can see in this bts video.) Just a couple extra images to add to the collection. ✨

Sweet morning moments. Many people want to book sunset sessions, but sometimes (scheduling or weather) interferes with that plan. So I’m here to show you that a 9am session is gorgeous in its own right.

This magical couple was celebrating their 10 year anniversary. They never had proper wedding photos and so we treated this like a mini wedding, party of 2 🥰

“Wow, you are reallly good at navigating our entire family for this shoot.” I’ve been thinking about this comment made recently. I had a handful of large, extended family shoots recently. And I gotta tell you, it’s definitely a project! And it got me thinking, it’s kind of like teaching…
I was a special education teacher in New York City for 14 years. I was on my toes every minute multitasking and being attentive to all the different groupings going on simultaneously.
And so, taking extended family photos with 14, 16, or 22 people with all different groupings going on at the same moment is a bit like teaching.
I love when people reach out about extended family shoots. Because I think how special it is for the grandparents. What a remarkable achievement and to have it captured through photography is one of the greatest gifts. In this particular situation, it was the daughter in law who reached out and organized all of this. I heard the grandpa talking to her at the end just thanking her and saying what a blessing it was. Of course there are other great pictures from this gallery, but the images with grandparents always stands out to me. 🩷

Many of my clients are families. Over the past 6 months or so I’ve been posting a lot of my branding work. However, I received an email a few days ago from a woman asking if I did family portraits. In her words, “ChatGPT keeps recommending you, but I don’t see anything about families on your page or your website.”

That’s a pretty accurate statement, so I thought perhaps I’d share more of my family work in the near future because I am truly so grateful for my family clients. 📸
