Let's talk about Facing Self-Doubt + Bucket Lists.
Perhaps this can help you do the thing, you know—THAT thing, the one you've been thinking about doing for, like, ever, just like me...
🪣 📋 📸 ONE OF MY BUCKET LIST MOMENTS:
For years, I've wanted to photograph newlyweds coming out of the NYC Office of the City Clerk doors. I've often thought that many couples might go into their marriage ceremony without a photographer, and boy, how fun would it be to capture such a moment. And you know I'm all about capturing moments, action, and people!
BUT...😬 🫣
FACING SELF-DOUBT:For years, I put off taking that quick subway ride downtown with my camera bag, thinking any number of things such as:- What will people think?- People already have a photographer, they won't want any photos...- What will happen when I get there?- It's too hot outside. It's too cold outside.- I'll look stupid just standing there. And probably many more self-limiting doubts...
BUT THEN...
Yesterday, I decided to go for it and be open to the adventure and personal growth. And you know what? While I still had those thoughts above running around my head, once I got to City Hall, I set up my camera and light, and did the number one thing I always tell OTHER people to do:
I smiled at people and said, 👋 "Hello!"
And look at what happened! ⬇️
I was able to capture a few precious moments—and for some, give them a gift they hadn't expected. I cannot express how much joy I felt on my way home. And I want that feeling for you, too.
So, face whatever doubts you may have and go do the thing, that thing you've been thinking about doing just like I did. Who knows, you may also make some magic—for others, too!
If you would like to collaborate on a photo session with me, let's definitely talk soon.❤️
