None of us choose where we’re born.

Not here. Not there. Not anywhere.

But some of us are born into opportunity. Into stability. Into systems that quietly support our growth in ways we don’t always see.

And in a time where the world feels more uncertain than ever… I keep coming back to this:

What do we do with that privilege?

In a few weeks, I’ll be traveling to Sri Lanka to document the work of Child Action Lanka — an organization quietly changing the lives of children across the country.

They don’t just step in for a moment.
They stay.

Across multiple regions in Sri Lanka, they support children facing poverty, instability, and trauma — providing access to education, nutrition, protection, and safe spaces where they can grow and learn.

Because education is everything.

It’s not just about reading or writing.
It’s about dignity.
It’s about possibility.
It’s about giving a child the chance to imagine a different future — and the tools to reach it.

I’ll be there on the ground, documenting their work — classrooms, communities, daily life — creating images and stories that help bring awareness and support to what they’re building.

Because storytelling can open doors that would otherwise remain closed.

But I only have a few weeks to make this happen.

Your support will help:

• Provide school supplies, uniforms, and learning materials
• Support feeding programs and basic nutrition
• Help fund safe learning spaces and after-school programs
• Assist families facing hardship with essential resources
• Deliver professional photography and storytelling to the organization at no cost
• Cover travel and production so I can fully commit to this work

I’ve seen what happens when a child is given even a small chance.

Everything can change.

If you feel called to be part of this — whether through a small donation or simply sharing — it would mean a lot.

30 Years, One Heart, A New Shoreline In 1996, I walked into a bombed-out schoolyard in Sarajevo with a camera in my hand. I didn’t realize at the time that I wasn’t just taking photographs. I was choosing a life. For nearly three decades, I’ve traveled to places where resilience grows in the hardest soil. From Chernobyl to rural India, from libraries in Bangladesh to mountain classrooms in Nepal, my camera has been a bridge — connecting stories that deserve to be seen with people who have the power to help....

Come with me on a photo tour to Bhutan!

Bhutan is not a last-minute destination. It’s a Himalayan kingdom where monasteries cling to cliffs, masked dancers move through ancient festival courtyards, and a pilgrimage to Tiger’s Nest feels less like a hike and more like a quiet reckoning with yourself.
And Bhutan does not open casually.
Even though our journey begins in November 2026, the process starts now. Travel visas must be arranged in advance through a licensed Bhutanese operator. Hotels are limited. Festival access, internal flights, and guides must be secured months ahead. Nothing about this place runs on impulse.
We are keeping this group intentionally small, and the groundwork is already underway.
If Bhutan has been living somewhere in the back of your mind — if you’ve felt that pull toward something quieter, deeper, more intentional — this is the moment to move.

Cynthia & Max 🤍

A beautiful ceremony at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Miami followed by an elegant reception at Doral Park Country Club in Doral.

From Cynthia’s pearl-accented heels and timeless gown to the rosary and traditional wedding coins, every detail carried meaning. I love capturing the elements that reflect faith, heritage, and personality.

The reception at Doral Park was warm and refined — candlelight, white florals, and gold accents creating a classic Miami celebration.

Special thanks to Denesse Gonzalez of DG Weddings, an internationally recognized planner whose organization and leadership made the entire day flow seamlessly.

Cynthia and Max — kind, down to earth, and completely in love. An honor to capture it.

Such a great time photographing Steph & Clayton’s wedding at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens. One of those perfect South Florida days — joyful, colorful, and full of life.

Huge shoutout to Gina from Lucid Event Design — truly one of the best planners in South Florida. Her vision and calm leadership always make a difference. The vendor team she brought together was incredible: high-energy celebration by Eddie B & Company, stunning florals by Kish Events & Decor, and a beautiful gown from RashawnRose Bridal and Prom that was made for both elegance and that unforgettable dance floor dip.

PGA National provided the perfect backdrop — iconic columns, manicured grounds, and elegant reception spaces that photograph beautifully.

From the laughter in the getting-ready room to the packed dance floor, this day was filled with genuine moments. While I travel often documenting education stories around the world, weddings like this are still at the heart of what I do — capturing the moments that matter most.

Steph & Clayton, thank you for trusting me.

If you’re planning a South Florida wedding, I’d love to help tell your story.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Award-Winning Photographer Ron B. Wilson Announces Immersive Bhutan Photography Tour — November 23–December 4, 2026

An all-inclusive journey designed for photographers and curious travelers seeking beauty, meaning, and connection.

Acclaimed travel photographer Ron B. Wilson invites a select group of travelers to join him on a rare 12-day photography tour through Bhutan, one of the world’s last truly unspoiled destinations. The journey begins in Kathmandu, Nepal, where the group will meet and fly together into Bhutan — a country where prayer flags dance on mountaintops, ancient temples cling to cliffs, and every moment invites presence.

From November 23 to December 4, 2026, participants will experience Bhutan’s stunning Himalayan landscapes, sacred monasteries, and vibrant cultural festivals. Highlights include a pilgrimage to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, time in remote villages, and insights into Bhutan’s philosophy of Gross National Happiness — a worldview that prioritizes spiritual well-being over economic gain.

Ron B. Wilson, an award-winning photographer with over 30 years of global experience across nearly 50 countries, will lead the tour. His work blends storytelling, cultural sensitivity, and visual poetry, and he has photographed for humanitarian organizations such as Photographers Without Borders, First Steps Himalaya, and Beyond the Clouds. A two-time featured speaker at the Xposure International Photography Festival and author of Resilience: Stories and Lessons from an Ardent Photographer, Ron is known for his generous, patient, and heartfelt teaching style.

“This journey isn’t just about making great photographs — it’s about slowing down, being fully present, and letting the beauty of Bhutan shape the way you see,” says Wilson. “In a world that feels increasingly loud and disconnected, Bhutan offers stillness, clarity, and deep human connection.”

Open to photographers of all experience levels — from smartphone users to professionals — this small-group tour includes all logistics, accommodations, guides, meals, and in-country transport. With limited space available, early registration is highly recommended.

👉 Bhutan Photography Tour – November.

There are places in the world that don’t reveal themselves all at once.
Bhutan is one of them.

You notice it first in the faces — calm, steady, non performative.
A dancer holding his mask before stepping into centuries of tradition.
A monk seated in quiet repetition, prayer beads softened by time.
Children leaning from a wooden window, watching without urgency, as if the world isn’t something to outrun.

Color in Bhutan isn’t decoration.
It’s language.
Saffron, crimson, indigo, gold — each hue carrying meaning, lineage, devotion. When you photograph here, you’re not chasing moments. You’re being invited into them.

This country changed the way I see.
Not just as a photographer, but as a human.

Bhutan reminded me that photography isn’t about more gear, more likes, or louder stories. It’s about presence. About respect. About standing in front of someone and realizing the image only works if you honor who they are.

That’s why, this November, I’ll be returning to Bhutan — and leading a small, intentional photography tour through this remarkable place.

This isn’t a drive-by trip.
We’ll photograph people, rituals, monasteries, landscapes, and daily life — slowly, thoughtfully, with access that allows real connection. I’ll be teaching as we go: light, composition, storytelling, and how to photograph people with dignity and depth.

If you’ve been feeling off lately…
If the world feels loud, fractured, rushed…
Bhutan has a way of recalibrating the soul — and sharpening the eye.

Some journeys ask you to slow down before they ask you to press the shutter.

This November 23–December 4, I’m leading a small, immersive photography journey through Bhutan — meeting in Kathmandu and traveling together for 12 days through one of the most visually, culturally, and spiritually rich places I’ve ever experienced.

This is a hands-on, technical photography tour with lectures, field instruction, and real time in the places that matter — temples, villages, daily life, and the quiet moments in between. But it’s also about learning how to see more clearly. How to understand place, people, and story — and translate that into meaningful work.

I’ve spent over 30 years as a professional photographer, returning again and again to this region, building relationships with guides and communities, and learning what can’t be rushed. I’m bringing all of that into this journey — openly, generously — and I’m just as interested in learning from the people who come along.

iPhone or professional camera, what matters is curiosity, patience, and a willingness to be present.

Only a few spots remain.

If this feels like your kind of journey, now is the moment!

Bhutan in festival season feels like stepping into a living painting—color, rhythm, and devotion everywhere you turn. The masks, the dancers, the energy in the air… it’s impossible not to be moved.

I’ll be back here next November, leading a small photography group during festival season, and I honestly can’t wait to share this beauty with others. ✨ Link in bio.

#911FindingHeroes

Dear friends, I’m keen to share with you some important news about our newest project. My long-time friend and filmmaker Deborah Stile and I have started development on a documentary about September 11th, 2001. I lived within walking distance of The World Trade Center. After receiving a call from my photojournalist friend Lilly Echeverria saying there had been a plane crash in lower Manhattan, I grabbed my camera gear and all available film, and I ran towards the burning buildings with the first responders. I witnessed firsthand all the incredible work these true American heroes did that day, sacrificing everything to help their fellow New Yorkers. It was the most consequential day of my life and career as a photographer.

I’ve changed the name of my page from “Ron B. Wilson Photography” to #911FindingHeroes, as this is my main focus for the foreseeable future. I hope you’ll stay here and take this journey with us.

In preparation for some upcoming exhibitions and speaking engagements about my images from that day, I’m finally realizing my nearly twenty-year dream to make a film about this event. Our focus is to find the people in my photographs or their families to interview them about their lives and experiences before, during, and after that fateful day. Deborah and I believe this is one of the most important stories of our time, and we are eager to see how it all unfolds. We need your help! For the next several months, I will be posting a few images a week on my Instagram feed from 9-11, looking to identify any individuals connected to the people in my photos. If you could share my Instagram handle @ronbwilson to anyone you know that lived in The New York City area during that time, NY or NJ firefighters, police or paramedics that were there that day, I would greatly appreciate it. We need to cast a very wide net, so please spread the word to check in frequently for new posts. If anyone recognizes someone in my pictures, please have them message me on Instagram or via email at [email protected]

Thank you, everyone, for your continued support on all of my creative projects and in advance for helping me tell this momentous story.
