To date, this slip dress is still one of my favorite pieces I ever designed. It’s been inspiring to see how each person that wears it lends it a completely different feeling and edge.

My favorite part about it is this incredible Chantilly lace that we had custom dyed to give a nostalgic, historical sensibility. Although, unlike historical pieces, this one pushes the risqué boundary a bit further and gives it a new flirtation for the modern day.

We couldn’t let this hand-sewn pyjama set go without a quick shoot! Come behind the scenes with me and — capturing this commission before it’s gone.

This set is made of 100% silk charmeuse, with the finestrino Chantilly lace (sewn entirely by hand), hand manipulated gros-grain ribbon bows, and mother of pearl buttons.

I'm often afraid of being in front of the camera when it comes to my business. My former classmate Rebecca Martin challenged me to confront my perfectionism and do it anyway.

Being a small business is getting more and more difficult by the day, in this world of large corporations with incredible funding and governmental support. Being a small, luxury fashion brand, designing and producing in New York City feels more challenging than ever. That's why it's more important than ever as makers, to share our journeys. Because we are the breath and the artistic force of our local cultures, of our industry, and of our greater country. And though we may be small, what we do is impactful — even if it's on an individual level with clients. That's what I love the most about what I do with FERN.

Rebecca was inspired by what I've been creating and watching my journey these past five years. She proposed capturing the process and the story behind why I continue doing what I do — how couture clothing touches people walking through both ordinary and transformative moments in their lives. This is what big businesses don't have the chance to do at a more intimate level. They don't get to meet the client where they are, and be an important part of their journey. She captured this beautifully.

The short documentary is now out in its entirety. Watch the full film on YouTube — link in bio. I'd love to know what surprises you or stays with you. Drop it in the comments.

Dear FERN friends, Supporters and Patrons,

2025 has been an incredibly transformative year.
From falling in love, to voyaging through Europe for inspiration, to leaving my role of 4 years as a leading client advisor at the Louis Vuitton flagship, to doubling my business and the number of orders I’m taking on (even before leaving LV), it’s been a year of immense opportunity and change.

As the world is changing rapidly as well, it has definitely not come without its challenges. Every day it feels like it’s harder to maintain and grow an independent, solo, q***r-owned brand, in a world increasingly preferential to corporations. With this changing landscape, it makes every individual order increasingly meaningful to me.

The fact that you continuously believe in me and support me in creating spectacular pieces for your wardrobe is what fills my heart.

Now that I am full time on this adventure, it definitely will not be an easy road ahead. However, I await the upcoming doors ahead that may open, the ones that will close, and the others that may tempt me to explore a new dimension of my practice and creativity.

As we come to wrap up this year heavily focused on creation, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on a few of my absolute favorite custom designs from 2025. If, in the coming months—whether for Valentine’s, birthdays, special occasions, or simply the moment you realize you deserve something special to wear—you think of me, or recommend me to a friend, please know how much it means to me to create something tailored for each individual.

Thank you for your continued support.
To a superbly daring and equally luxurious 2026!

Bisous,
Fern
