A L A P I N E // This last week , and I had the pleasure to travel down to the deep South for our final segment with our second community for .

Here stands our fierce protagonist Barbara Lieu, in front of her old home that was destroyed by mold and water. She slowly stepped inside, carefully retrieving each photo album and placing each it outside on the rock wall, parallel to her front door. It had been years since she has seen these photos, and as she spoke through each story, each memory, she delved deeper into her past and what the world looked like for a le***an in the 60s and 70s. In this image, Barbara stands in-between two worlds - standing at the threshold of her splintered home and looking towards the future with light in her eyes.

In honor of International Women's Day and I teamed up with the amazing BUILTBYGIRLS team to bring together female trailblazers and young women in tech to film real conversations around imposter syndrome, trans issues, women's spaces, work / life balance, diversity, what a leader looks like, and getting the whole damn dollar.

Not only were the women in front of the camera inspiring in their own right we had the opportunity to work with an all female crew. A big thank you to our two photographers and our grip and our motion graphics wizard .

Let's continue to have these conversations and make every day International Women's day.
