A new project is taking shape.

I started with one of New York City’s most iconic structures—the Queensboro Bridge.

Photographing it from Roosevelt Island, I’m interested in the relationship between steel, stone, architecture, movement, and the neighborhoods connected by the bridge.

These are the opening images. The final visual direction is already taking shape, and there’s much more to come.

For this session, I was drawn to a quieter, more intimate approach. The monochrome treatment, deep shadows, and soft falloff of light create a mood that feels both classic and contemporary, while the different expressions reveal very different sides of her personality.

Today’s portraits are of my cousin Marina.

Part of my ongoing Family & Friends series, this session is less about creating a formal portrait and more about observing personality—quiet moments, laughter, and the expressions that appear naturally when someone forgets about the camera.

Photographing family gives me the opportunity to explore portraiture in a more intimate and relaxed way, while continuing to experiment with light, composition, and the character of black and white imagery.
