An ode to summer houses…

Shooting in the Hamptons this week has me thinking of all the amazing projects I’ve photographed out here. Contemporary and minimal, traditional and maximalist and everything in between. I love ‘em all (and I’m open to all weekend invitations😎)

This incredible Water Mill house is brought to you by the talented women of Oxford Design, pictured here.

So much color and pattern and influences and art, so many yummy layers. I loved every corner of it, not one inch an afterthought, including the pool—look at those charming .living umbrellas⛱️👙

PS does anybody else use the term “summer house” or is that a holdover from my Chicago upbringing?

Excited to reunite with tomorrow. With summer weather finally arriving, I’m revisiting this Water Mill project we photographed in 2021, a quintessential contemporary Hamptons beach house.

I bet those wicker chairs will get some love this coming holiday weekend🌊⛱️

I used to dread Sunday nights. It took me decades to shake that slightly ominous feeling that would creep in on Sunday afternoons because I knew I either had to do homework, study for a test or get ready for a work week in a soul crushing job.

It’s been many years since I shook that feeling. It’s an incredible privilege to find joy and purpose in one’s work. It also means not dreading Mondays, or the end of vacations.

Here are some of my favorite home offices I have photographed over the past couple years. Whether you are dreading your Monday morning or excited to tackle the week, having a beautiful place to take care of business makes all the difference.

On Wednesdays we wear pink…

Continuing with my pink theme. I do love a pink bathroom and have photographed many cutie pies over the years.

Again, the diversity in style is really interesting and so much fun to be able to work with so many different designers with different perspectives.

Just back from New Orleans where every other house is a perfect Creole candy combo. Feeling inspired to keep the color story going by sharing some of my fave pink spaces.

Starting with bedrooms—from whimsical girls’ rooms to sophisticated adult retreats that prove pink doesn’t have to be precious 🩷

A few more images from the beautiful Catskills project I photographed with and . More of the guest house…

Makes me excited for spring upstate. I would live on that back porch ☀️

Five years of emails during Covid, one stunning Catskills project, and two mountain adventures 3,000 miles apart.

Amy Pigliacampo () and I finally met in person last fall to shoot this project—a labor of love she designed in collaboration with Kevin Conklin of for a creative family of art collectors.

So worth the wait.

Then we reconnected last week during my LA trip and took a hike through the mountains in Malibu, which felt oddly poetic considering our first meeting was in the mountains back east.

Swipe through for some photos of the darling guesthouse (bedroom, bathroom, shower tile that deserved its own moment) and a ridiculous time-lapse of every frame I shot that day.
