On this day, our nation lost 2,977 innocent lives. Among them were 343 brave members of the FDNY who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others. In the 24 years since that tragic day, an additional 402 FDNY members have passed away from health complications linked to their exposure at Ground Zero—39 of those losses occurring just within the past year.

We remember them all today, not only for how they gave everything to save the lives of others, but for how they lived, with courage, honor, and selflessness.

With all that’s happening this week, it’s worth remembering that we are always stronger united than we are divided. In a better world, differences of race, politics, or faith would never be reasons to harm one another or fuel words of hate but instead opportunities to learn, grow, and build understanding together.

Seeing the pride in my daughter’s eyes as I graduated from the Fire Academy today is a moment that will live in my soul forever. It’s more than a badge, more than a title, it’s the reflection of every late night, every sacrifice, every doubt I pushed through with her in mind. She’s the reason I kept moving when it got hard, the light that guided me through the flames of uncertainty. To her, I’m not just a firefighter, I’m her hero. And to me, her belief in me is the fuel that never runs out.

This moment matters because it shows her that dreams require discipline, and that love is the strongest motivator there is. I want her to know that strength isn’t just in muscles or uniforms, it’s in showing up, in rising every time you fall, in becoming what you once only imagined. Today, I didn’t just earn a title, I became the example I’ve always wanted her to see.

Almost forgot to share this. Got to partially knock something off the bucket list. The last shoot I did for Nemesis ( .clo ) was spotlighted in the June issue of GQ ( ). What's dope about this is the shoot was at my High School, Bayonne High School.
